ITV Love Island: Viewers demand fan-favourite Indiyah gets more screen time as controversial couple appears to dominate show

Love Island made a splash this week as it returned to our screens for a summer of love and, most importantly, entertainment. So far, 13 scorching singletons have strutted their way into the brand new Majorca villa, with some contestants proving more popular than others.

And with 24 hours of drama squashed into just an hour-long show every night, fans of Love Island are often left disappointed when their favourite contestant does not get 'enough' screen time. The coupling up of Gemma Owen and Davide Sanclimenti sparked rows between fans of the show earlier this week due to their age gap of eight years, and now viewers are claiming that the equestrian star and businessman are getting more screen time than other islanders.

Most notably, fans have demanded that producers give one bombshell in particular more screen time. Viewers seem to be getting bored with the age gap antics of Gemma and Davide.

Indiyah Polack, a hotel waitress from London, has become a firm favourite amongst viewers since entering the villa. The 23-year-old decided to participate on Love Island after being single for some time, and hoping the villa would be a 'great place to get to know someone one-on-one and build a real connection'.

Taking to social media, fans have expressed their desire for Indiyah to be given more screen time. TJ Hall wrote on Twitter: "Indiyah also needs way more screen time. She's got a lot of character and charm waiting to burst out. She could have a good arc if allowed..."

Viewers though Indiyah's face was a picture when she was coupled with Ikenna (ITV)

Prisca said: "No but seriously can we give Indiyah the screen time she deserves?? She’s the realist one there"

"Where is Ikenna and Indiyah’s screen time? I’m sick of Davide and Gemma’s dry chat" Noor said.

Lina wrote: "davide n gemma ? no. show me indiyah"

"There might be a coupling soon and the guys might be the one to choose. Scared for indiyah because sis is laid back and not even getting screen time." Ade wrote.

Last night's episode (June 9) saw two more bombshells arrive at the Love Island villa. Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Afia Tonkmor made an entrance last night, with the latter throwing a curveball towards Indiyah and Ikenna's relationship.

After Afia tried her luck with Ikenna, last night saw Indiyah confessing to fellow contestant Dami Hope that she had developed some 'territorial' feelings towards Ikenna following Afia's arrival. Speaking to Dami as she watched Afia and Ikenna talk in the pool, Indiyah said: "This morning when she pulled him for a chat I was thinking, 'Why are they laughing so much?"

Dami then asked whether Indiyah was growing 'territorial' towards her partner. The 23-year-old replied: "Yeah but that's how I am but I am not going to show you that but like obviously I am, I am a little bit."

Tonight's episode of Love Island will air on ITV2 at 9pm.
