Love Island is finally back on Monday, as a bunch of hot singletons embark on their search for romance. The ninth series of ITV’s hit dating show sees 10 contestants head to South Africa to join host Maya Jama, who takes on host duties following Laura Whitmore’s departure last year.
Among the host of Islanders looking for a new significant other this year is 26-year-old hair stylist Tanyel Revan. Hailing from North London, Tanyel said she is entering the villa looking to be pushed out of her comfort zone in a bid to find someone who isn’t her “typical ‘bad boy’ type.”
Speaking about what she will bring to the show, she said: “Energy, confidence, I’m funny, loud, feisty, charismatic. I’m also a very loyal person, what is there not to love?”

She added that her family would say she is “very giving, kind, but also direct.” On why she thinks she is still single, she said it’s because she is “so fussy.”
She said: “I’m single because I’m so fussy. When it comes to dating, I’ve had bad experiences but also good experiences, which have moulded me into who I am today.”
Tanyel also said she can “fancy” someone very quickly but can also easily fall out of love. She admitted she likes being kept on her toes and it’s “the chase” that she likes.

She also revealed what turns her off, and it seems anyone hoping to woo Tanyel mustn’t be afraid to dip their hands in their pockets, as guys who are “tight and stingy” give her the “ick.”
“It makes me feel sick,” she said. “If you’re tight, I will never see you again in my life, honestly.”

Another thing that gives her the “ick” is “pretty boys.” “They always have a crap personality,” she said, adding that celebrity crush Channing Tatum is “handsome but not too pretty.”
“He’s manly and he can dance. If a man can dance, I’m in love with him straight away.”
The hair stylist also revealed an unusual phobia, admitting to a fear of anything “creamy.” She said: “I don’t like anything milky. If milk touched my skin it would make me feel so sick. I hate it.”
Tanyel’s dream dinner party guests are Jennifer Lopez, Channing Tatum, and Piers Morgan, who she thinks is “sick” because he is “direct and honest”. " I would like to have a debate with him," she said.
Her Instagram account – which boasted almost 20,000 followers even before the new series of Love Island launched – shows Tanyel loves a holiday, as she has posted many snaps from her globetrotting adventures to destinations including Dubai, Amsterdam, and Paris.
