Former Love Island star Amy Hart has shared the sweet reason for her son's traditional names as she posted some new images of her adorable newborn. The new mum, who appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2019, announced her baby boy's arrival earlier this week.
Amy and her boyfriend Sam Rason said they are "so in love" as they shared a series of photographs of themselves in the delivery room with their son on Instagram on Tuesday (March 7). Amy, who has publicly documented her efforts to conceive since 2019, said she had contractions for four days at home and was told they were Braxton Hicks – so only spent four hours in the delivery suite.
Alongside the sweet images, the couple wrote: "Well…. 4 days of contractions at home (which everyone told us were braxton hicks… they weren’t), 4 very short hours in the delivery suite and 5 long days in hospital later, we are home with our dreamy baby boy. Born at 3.31am on 3/3/23 weighing 8lbs with the most beautiful head of hair (Amy would take the 9 months of reflux again) and we are so so in love.

"Proper introductions to come but now we’re home safe and sound. Thank you to everyone who sent their well wishes. We really appreciated it over the last few days Here’s a few delivery room snaps, can’t wait to show you his beautiful, non post birth swollen face."
Amy, 30, and Sam, 33, were quickly flooded with congratulatory messages before returning to social media on Wednesday evening (March 8) to reveal their baby boy's name - and explain the reason they chose it. "Stanley Samuel Giles Rason," the new parents began. "Stanley: We loved the name and also Amy’s Grandad Geoffs middle name.
"Samuel: After @samuelrason obviously but also Amys brother is Samuel too! Giles: Nanny and Grandads last name, hopefully he’ll inherit their love of shots!" Amy shared the news alongside a string of new snaps and added a description each image as she showed off her gorgeous little boy.
"[photos: 1) a couple of hours old, Baby Stanley already got Mummy’s back to prove that Amy’s big lips are indeed genetic 2) when Daddy says he’s going home for the evening]," the star added.
Molly-Mae Hague, who appeared alongside Amy in Love Island and welcomed her first child into the world with boyfriend Tommy Fury in January, was among those to respond to the name reveal, writing: "Beautiful Stanley. Adorable." Charlotte Crosby, who also became a first-time mum at the end of last year, also commented: "Absolutely gorgeous."
Last August, during an appearance on Loose Women, Amy announced she was expecting her first child, three years after she revealed on the ITV show she was going to freeze her eggs. She told the panel it had been "very unexpected" as she and Sam had not planned to start trying to conceive until 2023.
In 2019, Amy appeared on the talk show to explain her decision to freeze her eggs at the age of 27 after a test showed low fertility levels for her age. At the time, she considered it "insurance" in case she did not find a partner.
