ITV Love Island preview: New bombshells go on first dates

Love Island returns on Wednesday night after Maya Jama's shock return to the villa.

After the much-loved host returned to the Villa last night, she asked the Islanders to choose the two least compatible couples, Jess Harding, Leah Taylor, Mitchel Taylor and Sammy Root found themselves single.

In a surprise twist, they learned that waiting for them at the front of the Villa were two new bombshells, Mal Nicol and Montel McKenzie, who were ready to date them.

While Mal dates Sammy, alongside Leah and Montel, Jess and Mitch are watching from the sidelines before swapping with their former partners.

So, who’s already talking about getting dogs together, who excitedly shares a love of skiing and which Islander says their date is exactly their type on paper?

On Wednesday night's upcoming episode, Sammy’s comments at the fire pit are still a hot topic among some of the Islanders.

As Scott tells Sammy: “I did want to pull you up on something. When you said that I am not physically attracted to Catherine and we have no physical touch, I didn’t like it.”

Sammy replies: “At the end of the day that’s from my point of view.”

Scott adds: “I think it depends how you define compatibility because with the arguments you could say that because you’ve had so many arguments you aren’t compatible.”

Sammy questions: “But how many arguments did Ty and Ella have?”

Later, Catherine also speaks to Sammy about the situation, alongside Whitney.

As they both question his opinions, Sammy says: “Obviously you and Mehdi get on well and you and Scott get on well but at the end of the day I feel like Jess and I are more compatible.”

Catherine admits: “My feelings are obviously there. That physical attraction comment did upset me.”

Later in the programme, Scott and Catherine discuss their connection together on the terrace.

Scott says: “I feel like we’re getting on well, it’s going in the right direction. I’m definitely swaying towards you.”

Are they about to take the next step in their relationship?

Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX each weeknight and Sundays at 9pm.
