They have been dedicating their viewing time to the show for the last two months but some Love Island fans have said they refuse to watch the final following the last dumping of the winter series. The South African villa has seen plenty of arrivals and exits, arguments and love-ins after the past several weeks but it's all set to come to an end.
The first winter edition of the ITV2 dating show in three years will wrap up on Monday evening (March 13) with either Samie Elishi and Tom Clare, Tanya Mahenga and Shaq Muhammad, Sanam Harrinanan and Kai Fagan, or Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall set to be crowned the winners and walk away with the £50,000 cash prize.
The final four couples were revealed during the emotional "meet the parents" episode which saw the remaining Islanders reunited with their friends and family inside the infamous villa. However, after an emotional day catching up with their loved ones and introducing their new partners, the villa was surprised with one final dumping.
The group received a text and were told to gather around the fire pit where they were informed that the public had been secretly voting for the least compatible couple after the Islanders had to turn on their fellow couples and give their choices during their final dates.
The vulnerable couples at risk were Kai and Sanam, Will and Jessie and Lana and Ron after they were voted "least compatible" by their fellow Islanders. A message read: "Islanders, you voted Jessie and Will, Sanam and Kai and Lana and Ron as the least compatible couples. They are all vulnerable and at risk of being dumped from the Island tonight, however, only one couple will go home and that decision is in the hands of the public."
It was soon revealed that TikTok star and farmer Will and the Australian personal trainer Jessie were being dumped from the villa - but not before the result was spoilt by the show's host. Love Island fans were left fuming when the suspense was instantly killed as a promo clip for AfterSun aired early and revealed Will and Jessie as the dumped Islanders, before it was actually announced on the main show.
The promo was shown as the dating show went to an ad break before the Islanders found out who was going home, revealing Jessie and Will would be chatting on the spin-off show, alongside fellow recently dumped stars Casey O'Gorman and Rosie Seabrook. Host Maya said: "Join me tonight in South Africa live from the villa. Dumped Islanders Will and Jessie and Casey and Rosie will be sharing the goss."
And viewers quickly flocked to social media to comment. @Jungkoo53647912 tweeted: "Not love island spoiling it again with the aftersun ad #loveisland." @Ganer1981 replied: "Ffs p****d me right off. Why did I bother watching it?!?" @desumaiii posted: "WHY DID THEY SPOIL THAT WILL AND JESSIE WOULD BE DUMPED #loveisland."
@BleuuBluue said: "Nah how did the Aftersun advert spoil it for us and told us who basically got kicked out before the actual sho#loveIsland do better!" @williamwackerr mocked: "Someone's getting fired. How they spoil the end #loveIsland." @jessica__gannon added: "They didn’t even announce who was dumped yet and the after sun teaser showed it was jessie & will. what on earth @LoveIsland #loveIsland F****G RUINED IT!!!!!"
But that wasn't all as those who follow Maya on Instagram will have seent he 28-year-old drop a clanger there too as she shared a selfie-style video to her Instagram Story in which Will and Jessie could be seen in the background.
However, the dumping result also left Love Island fans disappointed. @abbieplattxo said: "I refuse to watch the final now." @donnacromwell27 wrote: "Cheers for that same again for the final tmrw save us watching." @chlo_faarmer commented: "Am actually livid will and jessie went over lana and ron, ron is a walking red flag."
@deans_georgia tweeted: "Will and Jessie not being in the final just explains this series, a joke #loveisland." @Survivinthe20s fumed: "I'm not even watching the final tomorrow, don't give a shit who wins now Will and Jessie are gone. #LoveIsland." @kt69132582 added: "That’s it i’m not watching the final now, my winners are gone #LoveIsland."
