Love Island fans appear to have been left underwhelmed after tuning in to find out what had happened with this year's islanders after they left the famous villa. Laura Whitmore was back on screen on Sunday night (August 7) as she hosted the ITV2 dating show's reunion.
Winners Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti and finalists Gemma Owen, Luca Bish, Indiyah Polack, Dami Hope, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page were reunited just days after the 2022 series came to an end with millions tuning in last Monday (August 1) to see Turkish actress Ekin-Su and Italian business owner Davide, both 27, emerging as runaway winners with more than 60 per cent of the final vote.
The group were seen being quizzed in the pre-recorded episode about their short time outside the Mallorcan villa so far while being watched on by the 2022 series other contestants including Paige Thorne, Adam Collard, Billy Brown, and Summer Botwe and Coco Lodge, who shared a fiery exchange during the show's reunion episode.
But fans of Love Island were soon taking to Twitter to complain as they picked fault with the 90-minute reunion special. And that wasn't all as viewers were left reeling with the questions they would have asked the islanders which were seemingly missed out by host Laura.
@MissCarolos said: "Does Paige like Dami? Did Luca only get with Gemma because he found out M.Owen was her father? Did Coco and Deji really sleep together? Amber how did you feel when you Dami and Indiyah coupled up afrer you left?....like where are these questions? #LoveIsland #loveislandreunion." @cmrbby tweeted: "This reunion is so dry. where’s the girls addressing that paige is a mean girl? where’s ekin hearing about antigoni bad mouthing her? where’s summer and coco’s big fight?! #LoveIsland #loveislandreunion."
@pocahonntoss wrote: "I’m genuinely bored watching this love Island reunion and it’s upsetting me. I was counting down the hours for this? No actual important question was asked? No mentioning how Gemma was supposed to be Ekin’s bff but her actions said otherwise? Fuming #loveislandreunion."
And fans have made it clear how they'd want any future reunions to be conducted, and who by. @AishaBirley said: "We need a host that is gonna cut deep and ask the real questions, Andy cohen would be asking davide if he has anything to say to George #LoveIsland #loveislandreunion." @percymagaya tweeted: "Is this what the UK call a reunion? Where is the drama… where are the real questions?? We need Andy!! #loveislandreunion."
@FentysFinest_x echoed: "We need this guy as a host. Andy would be asking the questions straight from twitter. We need mess, the British are too passive ffs #loveislandreunion." @alessiadalsasso penned: "The reunion not giving where is Andy cohen the king of reunion and getting the drama #LoveIsland #loveislandreunion." @HonestAlly_11 shared: "Petition to have @Andy Cohen host the #loveislandreunion next year. #LoveIsland."
Meanwhile, some found their reunion viewing was disrupted by technical issues. @TimGalsworthy asked: "Any particular reason that the #LoveIslandreunion picture ratio has gone all weird? #LoveIsland." @ebray02 echoed: "What’s happened to the aspect ratio? … who edited this fr? #loveislandreunion." @Sophie10993539 commented: "Ffs even the screen has has enough of this reunion, why has it gone so zoomed in #loveislandreunion."
