Love Island fans are counting down the minutes until the next episode after an announcement was made at the end of Tuesday night's trip to the villa (February 21). First though, a game on the ITV2 dating show has caused trouble for the South African villa's residents.
In the latest episode, Jessie Wynter noticed only one male villa resident voted her and Will Young as the most compatible couple on the reality dating series. During Casa Amor, Will kissed bombshell Layla Al-Momani which led to issues in his relationship with Jessie which they had settled in subsequent episodes after the TikTok farmer's grande display to tell her he loved her.
Also during the game, Claudia Fogarty guessed Casey O’Gorman would pick Samie as the person he would couple up with if it was not her. However, Casey chose Lana Jenkins who he was coupled up with before she returned to long-term love interest Ron Hall. Casey later said: "I went for Lana because I was most interested in her and if I’m going to be completely honest, if it wasn’t Lana saying to me, 'Look, my heart’s still with Ron', I might still be with her."
Tanya Manhenga also apologised to bombshell Martin Akinola who she coupled up with after the annual relationship-testing Casa Amor. Tanya ended her relationship with Martin on Monday ahead of her confessing love to Shaq Muhammad, who she had been partnered with since the beginning of the show.
Martin had earlier pulled Tanya, after she announced she had snuck off to kiss security officer Shaq during the night, to one side and told her: "When I was speaking to you, you never told me you were a liar. You’re not sincere, you made me look like I was dumb, you're a liar."
After getting mad at his claims, Tanya later apologised to him, saying: “I know I’m probably the last person you want to speak to, but I just wanted to apologise for not telling you about the kiss. Yesterday, I was like, I’m not wrong, I’m not wrong, I’m not wrong, but then sleeping on it. I’m like if I was Martin… I would really feel like you’re a whole different person to what I knew and I’m sorry. That’s all I have to say really."
Martin accepted her apology and he said he was "over it". However, after the latest challenge, he seemed upset as he was chosen the least trustworthy by some of the villa residents. He said he had done "nothing wrong" and had been picked as Shaq was the other contestants' "mate".
But as the episode came to an end, the ITV show teased the return of its controversial Movie Night segment. Last year, contestants were shown video clips of antics which had occurred when the couples had been tempted by newcomers during their time apart. Watchdog Ofcom has since said it was the most complained-about TV event of 2022.
However, it appears it's the moment Love Island viewers have been waiting for - and have even branded the producer's 'messy' for bringing it back. @NessaDeex tweeted: "Nah the producers are messy, fully waited for Shaq and Tanya to get back together before unleashing Movie Night #loveisland."
@daisyr___ shared: "This going to be one messy movie night as everyone has gone rogue this year #loveisland." @chubbytoesss said: "MOVIE NIGHT!!!! The way my mouth dropped omggg!!! Let’s gooooo #loveisland." @margerinis posted: "The villa is a house of cards and this movie night is the wind #loveisland."
But others are fearing for Australian bombshell Jessie. @rachee_lou said: "If they show anything to Jessie that makes her doubt Will at Movie Night tomorrow I will riot. Give that girl some reassurance I pray #loveisland." @Sophiegracei tweeted: "I hope they show how much will regretted his time in casa rather than doing him and Jessie dirty in movie night tomorrow #LoveIsland."
@livelaughcryxo wrote: "I’m actually worried for Jessie during movie night. The babe might genuinely collapse #loveIsland." @renbuhle added: "Can we all pray for Jessie because the amount of tears she will cry tomorrow at movie night.. she may end up with dehydration #loveIsland."
