ITV Love Island 2022 star Jacques O'Neill sends cheeky message after Anna-May's dumping

He may have left the last summer series in a dramatic and emotional fashion but Jacques O'Neill still appears to be a Love Island fan and had a cheeky response to the latest dumping on the brand new 2023 series.

The hit ITV2 dating show returned last week for its first winter series in three years due to the coronavirus pandemic. Ten fresh singletons travelled to South Africa in the hope of finding love and the arrival of several bombshells since the first episode aired has ruffled plenty of feathers.

But there was a shock for the islanders during Wednesday night's trip to the villa as Australian bombshells Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters were tasked with deciding which of their Love Island contestants to send home.

Six islanders found themselves at risk of being dumped after the public were given the chance to vote for their favourite male and female participants. The vulnerable girls at risk of being dumped included Anna-May Robey, Tanya Manhenga and Tanyel Revan, while the boys at risk were Kai Fagan, Haris Namani, and Tom Clare

Ahead of making her decision with Aaron, Jessie whispered to the islanders “love you guys” before they walked across the garden to discuss their options. The pair, both of whom have appeared on previous seasons of Love Island Australia before landing a spot on the UK show, appeared to struggle to make their decision, as when talking about Haris, Jessie said: "He’s like one of my best friends in here."

However, it was Haris Namani and Anna-May Robey who found themselves being dumped from the Love Island villa. Reacting to their double exit, TV salesman Haris, from Doncaster, said: "Tonight’s been a hard one to take. I had the best experience of my life but if it’s time it’s time.

"I couldn’t obviously find the right girl and find life but that doesn’t mean it stops here, I’ll still be looking for the girl and still looking to fall in love." Anna-May, a payroll administrator from Swansea, also said: "I feel good because at least I’ve been true to myself the whole way through but I have had the experience of a lifetime."

But as the moment of the dumping was shared on Instagram, which saw Anna-May break down in tears, with the caption: "A teary farewell," former rugby star Jacques, who did have a romance with Paige Thorne before his chose to leave the villa and she coupled with now ex-Adam Collard, took an opportunity to make his feelings known as he cheekily replied: "I’ll make sure @annamayrobey is okay."

And the comment was quickly spotted and flooded with replies. @beth.a.xo said: "Haha!! She’s stunning!!!" @ashleighlaur commented: "Hahahaha YES a good match I’d say." @loveislandbestbitsuk shared: "Lmao!! This is BRILLIANT. GO ON JACQUES!!" @lisa.phillips3 added: "Go for it she's stunning and welsh what more could u want."

And as other fans rightly pointed out, Anna-May already revealed her crush on Jacques and his Love Island bestie Luca Bish before heading into the villa. Also sharing her fondness for 2019 islander Ovie Soko, the 20-year-old told The Sun: "I fancied Ovie when he was on, but I’d probably have to say Luca Bish and Jacques are my type." She added at the time: "I wouldn’t mind if they came back to the villa."
