It has been a year since the war started in Ukraine and this morning TV show Lorraine welcomed a Ukrainian family to speak about their experience fleeing their home country. Stand-in for Lorraine Kelly, Ranvir Singh became emotional while talking to mum Natalia and her children, Max and Kate on the February 24 instalment. Ranvir also gave an update on Lorraine, who has been missing due to illness, saying the Scottish breakfast TV legend would return on Monday, February 27.
After chatting to three Ukrainian family, Ranvir had to "compose" herself at the end of the segment. With tears in her eyes, she said: "Oof, right. Compose oneself. It is quite difficult, isn't it, in these circumstances."
During the chat Max, who is 15, admitted that he missed his friends, grandparents and his dad who is still living in Kyiv. He said: "I really miss my friends, my grandparents and obviously my dad, who is in Kyiv now and that is really really tragic."

At the end of the segment, Ranvir told Natalia, Max and Kate that they were being gifted a day out in London, including tickets to the London Eye and Sealife Centre, to help make the day a bit easier. You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.
