Peter Andre is set to release a new album next year in line with his 50th birthday.
The Mysterious Girl singer appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Wednesday morning to celebrate his 30 years in the music industry, following on from his first single released in 1992. Speaking to Carol Vorderman while she fills in for host Lorraine Kelly as she is off with Covid-19, Peter confirmed he will be putting out new music very soon.
The Australian singer will be celebrating his 50th birthday next year, and plans to release a new album and tour to mark his big milestone. Peter, 49, confirmed he is working to put together five special shows that will be something he has never done before.
Peter's last album was his White Christmas release in 2015, and hasn't toured since 2019.
During his chat with Carol, she teased the singer about his youthful appearance and even conducted a poll to see how old fans really thought he was. She informed Peter that the mean average showed people thought he was 34.
Delighted with the result, Peter said: "I will take that," before Carol cheekily told him: "You're amazing, you could be a contestant on Love Island!"
Viewers took to Twitter to share their mixed reactions on Peter's album and tour news. One said: "Love Peter Andre," Another tweeted: "Aww he's nice peter andre #lorraine "
A third wrote: "Watching #Lorraine and @carolvorders goes and says Peter Andre is turning 50! What the f***? He looks younger than me and I’m not even 40 yet!!"
However, not everyone was happy about the news.
One unhappy viewer said: " #lorraine who does Peter Andre think he is? 5 dates? He cancelled a Scottish gig we had tickets for with zero explanation and was seen practicing in London that same night for something else! Lots of people had booked hotels and trains etc. NEVER again!"
Another penned: "Peter Andre celebrating 30 years of showbiz, or a one hit wonder & 30yrs of always popping up on daytime tv sharing all about his life? #lorraine "
