Tensions were running high on Loose Women today (April 14) as panellists Linda Robson, Kay Adams and Nadia Sawalha discussed the Party-gate scandal currently swirling around the UK government. With news breaking yesterday that Prime Minster Boris Johnson, his wife Carrie Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak would all be fined for breaking of Covid lockdown laws many have called for the group to resign from their positions.
In fact, at the time of writing almost 400,000 people had signed a change.org petition calling for Johnson and Sunak to resign from their posts. But Loose Woman Linda Robson has some sympathies for the Prime Minister.
One of the contentious lockdown moments for the PM was on his birthday in June 2020, during a national lockdown, when a gathering occurred within 10 Downing Street to celebrate the occasion with a cake. On the lunchtime show Linda said: "He didn't organise the party did he? He'd nearly died a couple of weeks before. He made a mistake."

Kaye Adams almost couldn't contain her disbelief at Linda's sympathetic tone, saying: "Linda, this is a man who is a leader. Leaders should lead. Leaders should not make excuses for getting it wrong. Leaders should show an example."
Twitter was quick to comment on what Linda had said with one viewer tweeting: "Listening to Linda is infuriating me. Stop making excuses for the stupid, lying b**tard". Another was more defensive of Linda's right to a view saying: "Whether you agreed with Linda's opinions or not, the way loose women aggressively went at her just because she didn't share their opinions was bullying and horrible to watch. I don't watch loose women and had just left it on, now I know why I don't watch it! Awful"
