Coleen Nolan's son has shared how he is now living off Universal Credit and staying with his famous mum after being approached and asked what he's doing now. Jake Roache is the son of the Loose Women star and EastEnders favourite Shane Richie.
He previously appeared in Emmerdale for a number of months in 2010, where he played Hannah Barton's friend Isaac Nuttal. But Jake also enjoyed a successful pop career, and was the lead vocalist of the band Rixton, who charted at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart with their hit, Me and My Broken Heart'.
But Jake dubbed himself a 'failure' as his current lifestyle is world's away from the fame he previously experienced. The 30-year-old, who was previously engaged to Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, shared his thoughts about his career on TikTok after one user asked him what he was up to these days.

The singer, as reported by the Mirror, replied: "I'm on Universal Credit, and I live with my mum in her garage. I'm a failure." But the person who asked him the question, known on the platform as Sugapuff, was quick to give a kind response.
"Firstly I'd like to say you are not a failure," they replied. "Everyone goes through hardships in life and you will get through yours." Jake then smiled before saying: "Thank you, you are a legend." The person behind the camera had started to chat to Jake and told him he was a fan of his former band.
A message at the start of the video also said: "Don't let people tell you that they are a failure. We all go through hard times." And others were quickly supportive.
One viewer said: "You're a legend for saying that. He has talent and it will prevail." Another commented: "Aw no, Jake is absolutely not a failure, we all go through rough times, I hope things pick up for him, I loved his band Rixton when they were big!" A third added: "You're such a lovely person. Great words."
As well as his former soap role, Jake has also appeared in the BBC musical film Rules of Love and ITV drama Scott and Bailey. Prior to his singing career, Jake, 30, did take a small role in Emmerdale in 2010, but bristles at the thought that being the son of 'Alfie Moon' gave him a leg up.
He said previously: "When I was auditioning they didn’t know who my parents were and I’d also auditioned twice before, so they obviously didn’t care about that or they wouldn’t have turned me down."
Last month Jake, who is now part of Push Baby with his former Rixton bandmate, celebrated his 30th birthday. Mum Coleen, who is from Blackpool, took to Instagram to share a smiley group photo of her youngest son's celebrations. The picture shows Jake with his arm around Coleen, who is also mum to Shane Jnr and daughter Keira, at the centre of a very large group photo. Many members of the Nolan family can bee seen including Shane and her sister Linda Nolan.
Coleen captioned the post with: "What a great day with close family and friends for my boys 30th yesterday…" She had earlier posted a heartwarming throwback post to mark her son's milestone birthday, showing fans a baby photo of her not so little boy.
