ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers make same quip about Ant and Dec as former star fuels rain theory

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here viewers were quick to make the same joke as Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly cheered, and mocked, Babatunde Aleshe as he took part in his first Bushtucker trial in the ITV reality show.

The comedian and actor was voted by the public to take on 'Horrifying Heights' after becoming the first campmate to say 'Im A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here' before even getting into camp as he, Charlene White and Jill Scott faced 'The Ledge' during the series opener.

After being chosen for the trial in the public vote, Babatunde vented in the Bush Telegraph: “The more I think about it the more I’m actually getting vexed. You guys, why did you pick me?"

As he made his way out of camp, he was supported by Chris Moyles and Mike Tindall before making his way across the iconic rope bridge. After meeting up with a smiley Ant and Dec, the Celebrity Gogglebox star again admitted that he didn't know why the public had voted for him.

But he soon redeemed himself after his first task of the series. The trial in question saw Babatunde on a revolving platform 100 feet in the air. He then had to make his way around the platform, climbing up and down ladders to another platform level, while grabbing stars along the way.

And the already difficult challenge had another, unexpected, element as Babatunde had to deal with the torrential rain as well. Despite the weather being against him, the star was full of glee after securing all nine stars and earning the maximum number of meals for camp.

As some praised Babatunde for 'redeeming' himself, others felt that was unfair that he still only had 10 minutes to complete the trial despite the rain making the platforms more treacherous. However, they also couldn't help but comment on the hots who tried to keep dry under two clear umbrellas.

Despite the cover, Ant couldn't help but point out his left arm had become drenched through the trial. @yourgirIfriendz tweeted: "Ant and Dec acting like high school PE teachers telling you the rain isn’t that bad and you’re being dramatic #ImACeleb."

@Sam_EE16 echoed: "Ant and Dec are PE teachers forcing kids to do Netball in the rain while they stand there with umbrellas and raincoats. #ImACeleb." @autumnlexve posted: "Ant and Dec are standing there like PE teachers when it’s p*****g it down and ur in shorts #ImACeleb." @Iuvhpe added: "Ant and dec remind me of my old pe teachers I can’t lie #ImACeleb."

Meanwhile, former I'm A Celeb campmate Vernon Kay appeared to fuel viewers' theory about the rain purposely being an addition. @DCVANS8 tweeted: "Did the rain start and stop JUST for his challenge lol #Babatunde #ImACeleb." @Re1axinmood added: "It’s amazing how dry all the other 'celebrities' were when he got back to camp after the heavy rain #ImACeleb."

Vernon, who appeared in the 2020 series which was filmed at a castle in north Wales, tweeted: "Never rained like that in Wales @imacelebrity," alongside a string of crying laughing emojis.
