ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers have hit out at Boy George after he made a remark about Matt Hancock during Thursday night's episode (November 17).
The Culture Club singer made a jibe about Hancock after fellow campmate Seann Walsh pointed out how easy the former health secretary had been having it on the show so far, Birmingham Live reports. The comedian said: “Matt is having an absolute holiday here. Sat in that chair, has a sleep in that bed, then goes to the beach for the day.”
Boy George responded: “Can I just cut you off there, he still has to be Matt Hancock.” It comes as Hancock's ongoing participation in the series continues to rack up Ofcom complaints.
The broadcasting watchdog received 2,000 complaints over him - with around half of these based on his participation. Others, though, defended Hancock after tonight's programme and even claimed he was being bullied.
@miss_c82 tweeted: "Say what you like about Matt Hancock, but I've yet to see him say a bad word about any of them. I don't like the sniping behind his back, especially from Boy George who is acting just like a boy!"
Meanwhile some viewers have found themselves preferring Hancock to Boy George after watching the programme. @Shaziipuddin said: "I’m just gna admit it. I like Matt more than Boy George. #ImACeleb" as @Bensgirl94 said: "Hoping Boy George is the first to go I can't stand him anymore plus it would be hilarious when he realised he's become more unpopular than Matt Hancock #ImACeleb".
@bavidmcjavid admitted: "You know what. I'm going to just come out and say it. I like Matt Hancock more than Boy George I'm not sorry" and @DaniellaaHicks said: "Really thought I would hate Matt Hancock and love Boy George but turns out it’s the exact opposite #imaceleb".
