ITV I'm A Celebrity's Chris Moyles slams 'fake' Matt Hancock as he spills exclusive behind the scenes secret

Chris Moyles has caused quite the stir since his exit from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here on Thursday night (November 24). The Radio X DJ was the latest celebrity to leave the Australian jungle after he failed to win enough public votes to keep him in camp.

The presenter narrowly missed out on a spot in the final as the five remaining stars Lioness Jill Scott, Hollyoaks' Owen Warner, comedian Seann Walsh, former rugby player Mike Tindall and MP Matt Hancock battle it out to be crowned king or queen of the jungle.

Despite viewers hearing Moyles say he was 'ready to leave' in Thursday night's episode, in his post-exit interview he admitted to hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly that he would have liked to stay.

Chris said: "I thought I've got this now. I'd really like to stay, I quite fancied doing the Cyclone."

Quickly discussing Matt Hancock's controversial appearance on the ITV show, Chris also joked: "I'm gutted Matt Hancock is more popular than me. What is going on?."

But it wasn't until the radio star left the jungle that he unleashed his true thoughts on the MP.

Since his exit, Chris has spoken to his Radio X colleagues in his first in-depth interview, revealing everything from what he really thinks of the former health secretary, to behind the scenes secrets.

He told Radio X: "I don't know what's been in the show....I was venting quite a lot when he first came in. Because, well, I'll just say he should be at work, because he's an MP and he's paid to look after people and their interests and hopefully make their lives better.

"I don't know how he does that by going on the jungle show. And then there was a moment when we got into a conversation about him and it got quite tense, which I accidentally started by being a smartass and going 'so when is your book out' and he went next month and I didn't know he had a book out."

He continued: "The reason I got annoyed with him was because Seann did something in his personal life that got thrown all over the newspapers and didn't impact my life whatsoever, has had a really, really hard time career wise, and mental health wise since. He was very open about it, and has come on the show to basically to say I'm really not a bad guy, can I start again. Which is really honest and takes a lot of balls.

"And Matt Hancock kind of dived around a few questions I thought, and then said, I guess all I'm just asking for is forgiveness. And at which point I had to walk out of camp and just get away because I personally found that quite fake. That really wound me up."

Moyles then admitted that to cope with the MP being in camp, he separated Matt Hancock the MP with Matt in camp.

"As a campmate he did an amazing job. And as a guy he lives in a different world to you and me. But, he's a human being," he said.

"There's Matt Hancock, who I have issues with, and there's Matt who I was in the jungle with and I know that sounds almost like an excuse, but it was the only way that myself and others could deal with that fact."

Also in the interview with his Radio X team, Chris let listeners in on some behind the scenes secrets, including what happened in his last trial.

The presenter admitted: "I can give you some exclusives. We all made it a mission to steal whatever we possible could from the trials and challenges and bring it back to camp. We've stolen chalk, a pen, a list of health and safety guidelines.

"When I did the trial with Owen yesterday with the crane, I managed to steal two and a half packets of biscuits.

"So I did that entire trial with two packets of biscuits in my pocket. When I got back to camp I managed to find a rice packet that was empty, put the biscuits in and break them all in half, then hide them in the toilet.

"Then I tried to quietly tell everybody they needed to go to the toilet because I'd 'cleaned the seat'. Three of the campmates managed half a biscuit before one of the 72 cameras they have there worked out exactly what I was doing and then the biscuits disappeared.

"You can't really get away with anything."
