I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly faced an 'ant infested' studio following their latest live stint on the ITV reality show. But it wasn't quite as it seems.
It was pointed out during Thursday night's show (November 17) that Ant was celebrating his birthday with the time being 10 hours ahead in Australia, where the duo have returned to host the show for the first time in three years. But as they arrived for their shift live on screen, the birthday boy was greeted with a surprise.
As he turned 47 on Friday, the crew on the ITV show dressed up in Ant masks on set and sang happy birthday several times and presented him with a cake. Posting a clip of the moment on social media, the caption read on their joint Twitter account: "Ant infested studio! Birthday vibes."
While delighted with the birthday love, Ant couldn't help but admit: "This is quite terrifying, isn't it?" as he starred back at numerous versions of himself. Dec then joked: "This is the closest I've ever felt to being in a zombie film."
After bringing I'm A Celeb viewers the latest jungle action, Ant and Dec headed over to Instagram where they hosted their latest daily debrief live to their millions of followers.
In a speech to the crew, Ant was heard saying: "This is nice, it is quite emotional. It is a pleasure to be back here in Australia for my birthday, I have missed it. And the show is going great so thank you so much. Well done everybody. It is a sensational series."
Close friend and fellow ITV star Stephen Mulhern was also a surprise guest on Ant and Dec's Instagram Live video to help celebrate Ant's milestone. But it wasn't long before they were involving him in a chat on the 2022 series so far, and the Catchphrase host didn't hold back.
"This is going to be quite controversial within the industry, everyone's gonna go 'Oh, you're very brave'... Chris Moyles. I think he'll be the first to go," Stephen admitted. "I just think there is something which isn't quite right."
Dec then said they had received some messages saying Chris was 'putting it on' in the trials and Stephen, 45, added: "You know how much I love the show, I could be like mystic meg saying 'this does not feel quite right'." The TV star then predicted his winner who is currently a favourite with the bookies to take home the I'm A Celeb 2022 title after a very different kind of win earlier this year.
He said: "Jill [Scott] I think is a gem. I want her to be my mate, I want her to be my friend, I would love to go out for lunch with her. I think she is going to win without a doubt. My top three are Jill, Mike [Tindall], and Owen [Warner]."
