ITV I'm A Celebrity host Ant McPartlin fumes as Boy George kicked out of jungle

ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has served up another surprise eviction, but it was host Ant MacPartlin who was shocked by the latest decision. Eighties pop icon Boy George packed up his campside belongings and made his way over the bridge to meet the show hosts as he said goodbye to this year's competition.

George became the fourth celebrity to leave the camp after public votes previously meant that Charlene White, Scarlette Douglas and Sue Cleaver all made a sharp exit. The Karma Chameleon hitmaker waved farewell to his campmates at the end of Tuesday night's episode (November 22), admitting he was happy his time was up and was ready to start his next adventure.

The singer told Antand Declan Donnelly: "Being honest, I'm happy to go today". Asked why he had decided to take part in the ITV reality show, he said: "For me it was like can I do it? It was a lot tougher than I thought."

George, 61, said the experience had been life-changing for him. "It makes you appreciate what you have in your life," he said. "And I'm sticking to the diet, it was amazing," he added.

As Ant and Dec showed a montage of George's most outspoken moments on I'm A Celeb, Manchester Evening News reported that Ant said: "You're a say it like it is kind of guy". One of the clips they showed was of the awkward moment former Health Secretary Matt Hancock appeared as George was venting about him to comedian Seann Walsh. "I have been hating on you I'll be honest," George admitted to his campmate as they went on to clear the air.

And George told Ant and Dec about Matt, who was controversial late arrival to camp: "I thought having Matt in here was really challenging and I had to tell him what I thought." But he added about the West Suffolk MP, who has been suspended by the Tory party for taking part in the show: "He's just a person. He's mucked in. He was doing a lot to help everyone. Everyone was kind and thoughtful, there's a lot of kindness in there."

As George made his final exit walk and glided over the famous rope bridge, Ant and Dec switched to their live Instagram feed. Ant was clearly unimpressed. Dec could be heard saying: "Sad times guys." Speaking directly to fans into the camera Ant fumed: "What were you thinking man?" And he quipped: "You b****es!" I loved Boy George." "Stop shouting," Dec told him.

Over on Twitter, social media users had something to say about the eviction too. One said: "Boy George was needed for the entertainment." Another asked: "How has Boy George gone before Matt Hancock wtf British public." And another added: "Boy George leaving #ImACeleb is a travesty. He brought the comedy. Who on earth is voting for Matt Hancock?"
