ITV I'm A Celebrity campmates branded 'disgraceful' after challenge shows 'true colours'

The Letters from Home section of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here is generally one of the highlights of the show, as fans get a glimpse into the private lives and relationships of the celebs. However, some fans say they have spotted campmates showing their "true colours" during the task on Sunday night's (November 20) instalment.

With the prospect of another campmate leaving the jungle, the celebs fought to receive the coveted letters from home before another team member lost their slot on the show. But as this is I'm A Celeb, those letters would just be handed to them.

Contestants were challenged to balance named blocks on a beam and those blocks remaining in place at the end of the time would be awarded a letter from home. Sue Cleaver, Boy George and Chris Moyles were up first but struggled initially, while Matt Hancock, Mike Tindall, Seann Walsh and Babatunde Aleshe seemed to have more luck with still left a lot of blocks to be placed for the final three.

As Nottinghamshire Live sister publication Manchester Evening News reported, Scarlette Douglas, Jill Scott and Owen Warner were the last group up for the challenge with 37 minutes left on the clock. After learning "small steps" were best, they completed the challenge in 14 minutes and returned to camp triumphant with all 10 letters.

However, the placing of the blocks led some viewers to conclude that the celebs had shown their "true colours". Some fans taking to social media were outraged with one Twitter user writing: "Putting Matt's block on last after all the stars her won for camp just goes to show the true colours of all the camp mates. I hope Matt wins."

Another said: "See they put Matt's down last! All the stars he won for them. Disgraceful!" While a third noted: "I notice that they left Matt’s block until last #ImaCeleb."

The comments continued: "They even put Matt's block on last, so he very nearly didn't get a letter from home. Unbelievable! #ImACeleb." Another added: "Wow!! Fancy putting Matt's block last. Vindictive people. #ImACeleb."

Matt received a letter from his partner and former aide Gina Coladangelo, who he was caught breaking coronavirus social distancing rules with last June when they were pictured in his ministerial office, which ultimately led to his resignation as Health Secretary. In the letter she wrote that they have been "impressed" that he conquered his fear of snakes but added: "We are less sure about the dancing."

Others Twitter users praised Matt as he chose to help out Boy George despite their awkward conversation just a couple of days ago. One person tweeted: "After how Boy George has been towards Matt Hancock, Matt still chooses Boy George’s block! That’s the difference between the two! #imacelebrity #ImaCeleb." Another added: "Nah Matt’s better than me I would NOT try and do George’s block #ImACeleb."

All celebrities received their letter from home with ex-rugby star Mike picking up a letter from his wife Zara and their three children. Zara is the daughter of Princess Anne and niece of the new King. It read: "Hi my love, we are missing you so much and really needing some papa hugs, but glad you’re sharing them with your campmates. The girls are enjoying sports and throwing themselves into everything at the moment and the little man is loving life, smashing it up, learning some new words. Z, M, L and L. x"
