During the new three-part drama, locals were heard singing in a pub praising the killer In the second instalment, which first aired on Sunday, locals were featured in a Newcastle pub 'hero worshipping' Moat's crimes, reports Chronicle Live.

Former detective chief superintendent Neil Adamson, played by Lee Ingleby, is seen storming out of the pub to avoid hearing the offensive chants. The drama also highlights the huge support the killer had online, with people branding him a hero for shooting his ex-partner's new boyfriend.
On Twitter, one person said: 'I’m literally shocked people were praising Raoul Moat like this and singing songs glorifying him killing coppers ! Absolute madness and so disgusting. I hope those people are ashamed #TheHuntforRaoulMoat.'
Another wrote: "I know there’s a bit of creative licence in this Raoul Moat thing, but it’s still mental. Locals bouncing about a pub singing in his honour and I’m only 20 minutes in to the second episode. Even if the entire thing is only half accurate it’s still mad that it was real life."
A third wrote: 'Sick society we live in. Just disgusting to glorify this vile man.'
The team behind The Hunt for Raoul Moat, World Productions, have said they wanted the drama to tell the 'real story' of what happened and honour Moat's victims, including PC Rathband, who survived being shot but took his own life a few years later.
Moat falsely believed that Christopher was a police officer, after ex-Samantha told a desperate lie to try and get him to stay away from her. After being released from prison, Moat fatally shot Christopher and seriously injured Samantha.
He then shot PC David Rathband, who tragically lost his sight and then took his own life a few years later.
The Hunt for Raoul Moat started on ITV1 on Sunday, April 16 at 9pm. The drama will run over consecutive nights, wrapping up on Tuesday, April 18, before a documentary about Moat airs the following night.
