ITV ‘hopeful’ for Sir Tom Jones return to The Voice UK

Tom Jones United Kingdom

ITV has confirmed it remains hopeful that Sir Tom Jones will return as a coach for the upcoming series of The Voice UK, following widespread speculation that he was set to leave the show.
Reports had recently suggested that the 86-year-old Welsh singing legend would be dropped prior to production commencing for the 2027 series, but a show insider revealed that ITV is actively in talks with him.
Sir Tom has been an on-off coach on the talent competition since its debut in 2012, successfully mentoring three champions over his tenure, including Leanne Mitchell, Ruti Olajugbagbe, and Anthonia Edwards.
The veteran performer previously parted ways with the franchise in 2016 during its initial run on BBC One, heavily criticising the BBC for sub-standard behaviour after being given just 24 hours' notice of his departure.
