ITV Good Morning Britain viewers divided as Susanna Reid reunites with Ukrainian girl who went viral for singing

Good Morning Britain viewers didn't seem to agree over one of the show's latest guests. Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were back at the helm of the ITV news programme on Wednesday (July 13) when they were joined in the studio by Amelia Anisovych.

People will remember Amelia from earlier this year when a video of her singing Frozen's Let It Go went viral amid Russia's devastating invasion of Ukraine. A clip of the young girl performing the rendition of the iconic film track in a Kyiv bomb shelter was posted online and was quickly watched by millions.

Susanna got to meet Amelia earlier this year when she travelled with a small crew to Medyka, one of the busiest of the border crossings, as people continue to flee war-torn Ukraine which was then just a couple of months since Russia's invasion began.

Amelia has fled Ukraine with her grandmother for the safety of neighbouring Poland but her GMB appearance comes days after she travelled to London to watch Frozen the musical in the West End. The seven-year-old, who said she wants to be a big star when she grows up, performed twice during her appearance on the show with her mum and had even drawn Susanna, 51, a special picture.

She returned the favour by gifting the youngster with a bracelet from the GMB team before her second performance of Let It Go which saw her sing in both Ukrainian and English. Her mum Lilia, 39, said: “I always knew Amelia was very talented and a sweet angel and now the whole world knows the same."

Before the end of their chat, after Amelia's second performance, Susanna brought her in for a big cuddle with Amelia nuzzling into the TV star.

And the moving moment left some GMB viewers moved to tears, @LadyZara1986 tweeted: "Don’t mind me… just crying at the little girl singing on @GMB - what a superstar she is!" @Shaun1979Norris wrote: "Stopped working to watch this Amelia segment! Ahh bless her the kid's a legend! Good shout #gmb."

@jules4023 commented: "@GMB omg Amelia what a star in tears lots of love to the family." @GrocottJanice wrote: "That was a Beautiful moment Suzanna with Amelia on her knee, a little superstar in the making #GMB." @ifyouseerobyn shared: "Not me crying before 8am at a little Ukrainian girl singing Let It Go on #GMB Too early for this."

Others, however, weren't as impressed. @DaniJ94 tweeted: "Watching Susanna Reid cuddle that child sickening #GMB." @FlopsyPickle shared: "I can’t help but think things must be so overwhelming for Amelia, she’s had to deal with her country being bombed, escaping but leaving her dad behind, living in a new country and being pushed onto tv shows and stadiums. #gmb #goodmorningbritain."

But @Nevererdofher hit back: "Well I thought Amelia was gorgeous and those coming on Twitter to spout b******s about what she’s wearing or she’s not sad enough/looking poor enough/is singing too nicely honestly you could just stay quiet. Try it #GMB."
