Good Morning Britain star Richard Arnold got quite the welcome back as he returned with the latest entertainment news. The ITV news programme's showbiz reporter hasn't been seen on-screen for a number of weeks and had been replaced by BBC Radio 1 star Vick Hope.
But on Tuesday (November 14), Richard was back in the studio, with a glowing holiday tan, ready to get stuck into all the latest TV and celebrity gossip with Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley.
Susanna, Richard, and GMB's bosses, however, had another plan in mind and Richard's segement ended with him almost vomiting live on television after necking a smoothie containing offal, heart and kidneys in a mock I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Bushtucker trial.
Due to his absence from his role on GMB, Richard was tested on whether he has kept up to date on all the jungle antics so far. And as a good friend of Coronation Street star and current campmate Sue Cleaver, it seemed only right Richard gave some tasks a go himself.
Before being asked his questions by Susanna and Richard, the entertainment reporter had a huge snake placed around his neck. Despite not being in the country, it appears Richard did his research before appearing back in his GMB role as he got all five of his questions right.
But that wasn't the end of it as Richard was then put through his paces with five tasks, which involved him using his hands to find stars in boxes containing cockroaches, mealworms, and a lizard. However, for the final task appeared to much to stomach - quite literally - as he was presented with the previously mentioned shake.
"I'm shaking!" the TV star admitted, while donning a black gown to avoid any mess on his pristine suit, before taking the plunge and downing the drink. And after consuming the entire glass, Richard looked horried and almost immediately quesey and began to retch, turning his back to the camera to spare viewers.
As Susanna laughed while also looking away from her co-star, Richard repeatedly told his namesake: "I'm so sorry!" Susanna then asked: "Are you alright?" to which Richard quipped while wiping his mouth: "I love this company’s duty of care."
And it appears it was also a bit too much for GMB viewers. @Boppity_Boo34 tweeted: "Did we need someone nearly chuck up on tv at nearly 8 in morning #GMB." @LushShirley60 complained: "Absolutely disgusting this time of the morning. Especially when kids are watching and people are eating breakfast #GMB."
But @chantry5 said: "Omg I'm crying, that's the funniest thing I've seen on TV for a long time @RichardAArnold #ImACelebrity #gmb." @gribbs43 added: "I don’t often stop to watch TV in the mornings. Omg, what are they doing to poor @RichardAArnold ? That was just cruel. Well done to him though #retchforthestars #GMB."
