ITV Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid says she's 'bang to rights' as Ben Shephard makes 'different men' jibe

Susanna Reid didn't have much of a comeback when Ben Shephard compared her to one of the current Love Island contestants. The pair were back hosting together on Good Morning Britain on Thursday (July 7) as the news continues to be dominated by more government resignations.

On Wednesday's show, just a mere 12 hours after Savid Javid and Rishi Sunak sparked a series of exits over Boris Johnson's leadership, Susanna and her co-host Ed Balls headed to Westminster to present the programme live from outside the House of Parliament.

But after a busy day for No.10, with the Mr Johnson facing Prime Minister's Questions before being grilled by the Liason Committee, things don't appear to be slowing down as Susanna was back in the ITV studio with her Thursday co-host Ben.

And things were just as busy as the pair were regularly having to break away from their conversations with guests to confirm another resignation. This included during the latest entertainment segment with Radzi Chinyanganya who is filling in for the show's showbiz editor Richard Arnold this week.

The former Blue Peter and CBBC star was delivering the latest news from another famous home - the Love Island villa. He was discussing the last day of Casa Amor as viewers of the ITV2 dating show were teased that the end was in sight as host Laura Whitmore made her way into the main villa.

But on Thursday's GMB, the trio discussed Jacques O'Neill's latest antics as he let his head be turned away from Paige Thorne and shared more than one kiss with new girl Cheyanne Kerr. The rugby player claimed that he needed to get to know other girls before knowing whether how he feels for Paige is real.

After initially chatting with Mollie Salmon, Jacques told the other boys he was going to ditch the newcomer before taking Cheyanne up to the terrace for their first kiss. He later made a pack with Dami Hope that if he was having 'kissed under the covers' he would too.

Radzi, Susanna, and Ben shared their shock over Jacques' actions After watching clips of the latest goings-on in Love Island, Susanna looked disgusted, while Ben quipped: "Well it’s important, you gather all the information you possibly can to make a decision. You can’t rush these things, Susanna."

Referring to Jacques' claims, Susanna showed her dismay by repeating: "How do I know if you’re the right person for me if I haven’t tried out all the other people?!" but Ben had the comeback of all comebacks for his co-star.

"Well you’ve been trying out different men week in week out for months now on this show," he joked. "Don’t pretend you’re no different to Jacques!" Laughs rang out in the studio, including from Kate Garraway who was on hand to read the latest news headlines.

But Susanna instantly admitted defeat: "Bang to rights, sorry!" she said looking at the camera. Radzi was quick to save things as he carried on with his Love Island news and gossip. However, he was soon cut off. "I'm terribly sorry, Radzi. We're going to have to interrupt," Susanna said as they returned to the latest breaking news of another resignation.

Ben was, of course, referring to the changing male line-up on the programme following Piers Morgan's dramatic exit in March 2021. Since he left, Susanna has been joined by a whole host of co-stars included Richard Madeley, Adil Ray, Martin Lewis and Ed Balls.
