ITV Good Morning Britain's Martin Lewis left with head in his hands over rent costs warning

Martin Lewis presented Good Morning Britain on Monday, October 10 to share his expert advice on the cost of living crisis. The MoneySavingExpert guru appeared alongside host Susanna Reid to answer questions from worried viewers of the ITV programme ranging from mortgages to energy costs.

As reported by MEN, since the mini budget was announced on September 23 concerns have increased amongst homeowners after predictions the Bank of England could raise interest rates to as high as six percent. Mortgage lenders have since been taking deals off the market and homeowners are beginning to see their mortgage repayments rise significantly.

On Monday's programme, Martin answered several questions surrounding the mortgage crisis as well as tenants who were becoming worried about their rent costs. Good Morning Britain viewer Sean sent a question in for Martin which was read out by Susanna Reid, which said: "If mortgages are going up, what does that mean for people who pay for their properties? Are rents going to go up too?"
