Good Morning Britain viewers have hit out at Richard Madeley after accusing him of being 'patronising' to a Ukrainian family during the latest episode. The presenter joined Susanna Reid for Tuesday's edition of the ITV news programme.
During the three hour-long show, the hosting duo were joined by refugees Maria and her son Bogdan via video link as they appeared alongside the British family who has taken them into their home following Russia's invasion of their home country.
Maria and Bogdan, who met Susanna when she travelled to the Ukraine border with Poland towards the end of April, are now settled in Bristol, living with couple Richard and Tracey Wheeler.

Richard asked the mother and son how they are getting on in the UK, to which Maria replied: £I like this country very much. I think that people who live in Great Britain are very open, friendly and nice."
Following her response, the 66-year-old host congratulated Maria on her language skills. "Your English is coming on really well," he told her. Richard then asked Bogdan about having made so many friends at his new school with Maria commenting: "He is enjoying life in England and he likes everything."
Richard also asked Tracy and Richard what food they are "serving up" to their home guests. But the chat didn't go down with GMB viewers who felt Richard had been "patronising" the family.
@Haitchb23 tweeted: "These poor Ukrainians look so sad on #gmb imagine being patronised by Richard Madeley “what are you feeding them”?!!!! I imagine Ukraine people eat food the same as British people." @InnerSpeakerss said: "Richard is so cringe. Interrupted her & even made a phone sign when he asked her that question."
@Speedqueenie wrote: "Please can Richard Madeley stop patronising the Ukrainian family #GMB." @amandaj808 commented: "Let's ask a question, then stop her while replying to ask another question, yes love the British like Richard are RUDE. #GMB."
@uniquedollsUK shared: "Richard Madeley’s patronising interviewing of those poor Ukrainian refugees who are obviously still traumatised by the destruction of their country was hard to watch #GMB."
