ITV Emmerdale viewers gobsmacked as they uncover Paddy Kirk star's famous wife on-air

Emmerdale viewers were gobsmacked as they discovered who Dominic Brunt is married to during tonight's show.

The 52-year-old soap star is renowned for his role as Paddy Kirk in the fictional Yorkshire village. Paddy is currently going through a difficult time in the ITV show after he found out his wife, Chas Dingle, had an affair with Al Chapman.

Wednesday's visit to the Yorkshire Dales continued to explore Paddy's spiral since his discovery. His dad, Bear Wolf, attempted to cheer him up in episodes earlier this week as he arranged a double date.

However, things soon turned awkward as Paddy quickly made an excuse to bring an end to the double date. Mandy Dingle tried to cheer Paddy up in tonight's episode as the two reminisced over old times.

The two have previously dated in the show and they rekindled their romance in tonight's episode. However, fans were distracted by Dominic's real life love life as the episode aired.

Jonny took to Twitter and said: "Just found out that Paddy and Liv’s horrible mum are MARRIED in real life!?!" Away from the screen, Dominic is married to Joanne Mitchell, who will be familiar to soap fans.

She joined the cast of Emmerdale in 2016 as Liv Dingle's mum, Sandra Flaherty. The two have been married in 2003 and share two children.

Joanne has played a number of roles in the ITV soap as she first played DC Barnborough in 2003 and Susan Davies in 2009.
