Emmerdale viewers were baffled as Amelia Spencer went into labour on tonight's show.
Sunday's episode was the soap's 50th birthday and the landmark event was marked as an epic storm hit the fictional village. Amelia was heavily involved in the drama as she headed out for a picnic in the Yorkshire Dales.
The character, played by Daisy Campbell, has endured a turbulent time in the village since she found out she was pregnant. Amelia is aged 16 in the show and has received no support from the child's dad, Samson Dingle.

Amelia has fallen in love with Noah Dingle and the two planned a picnic in tonight's episode. However, the weather sharply changed while Amelia headed out into the countryside.
Things got worse as she went into labour while trying to seek shelter from the windy conditions. Key characters such as Kim Tate and Harriet Finch headed out to search for Amelia.
However, viewers following the show on Twitter were distracted during the search party at why Amelia decided to head out for a picnic.
Neville said: "This is is ridiculous a person decides to go for a bit of a picnic, weather turns a bit grim next minute death and destruction. Why didn’t Amelia walk back home"
Annie said: "I like how the characters have been saying for days that the weather forecast predicted a storm and now they're like "WHERE'S ALL THIS WEATHER COME FROM?!"
Marc added: "Weather forecast apps clearly haven’t made the streets of #Emmerdale yet"
Mike said: "Amelia you really wouldn’t go for a picnic in that weather when you’re pregnant"
Jamie said :"The hell is Amelia doing in the middle of nowhere? She not have the weather forecast on her phone?"
