Emmerdale star Laura Norton has announced the birth of her second child. The actress, best known for playing Kerry Wyatt in the ITV soap, shared the happy news on Instagram, just after viewers watched her character act as a birthing partner for teen Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) as she gave birth early to a baby girl in the Dales.
Laura confirmed back in August that she was expecting her second baby with her fiance and former co-star Mark Jordon. Sharing an image on social media at the time of her holding hands with her partner, who played Daz Spencer in Emmerdale, she told her followers they would soon be welcoming the second addition to their family.
The pair smiled as they looked into each other's eyes and Laura's then blossoming baby bump could be seen on full display as she donned a figure-hugging red dress. Laura's caption said: "Round two."
And on Thursday night (October 20), Laura announced the safe arrival of a baby girl, who will be younger sister to the couple's first child, son Jesse, who was born back in February last year.
Sharing pictures of the newborn meeting her older brother and alongside her doting parents, Laura penned: "She’s here!!!! We’ve baked another belta. This little superstar joined us on Mon 17th October. She’s dead clever and a tiny little bundle of joy and beauty." Revealing her name, the mum-of-two added: "Ronnie Jordon."
And her Emmerdale co-stars were quick to comment. Amelia star Daisy said: " I can’t wait to meet her awww! Congrats." Fiona Wade, who plays Priya Sharma in the ITV soap, wrote: " Absolutely beautiful!! I cannot wait to meet her!!" Marlon Dingle legend Mark Charnock replied: "Soooo happy for you all. How absolutely gorgeous."
Laura's on-screen daughter Amy Wyatt, played by Natalie Ann Jamieson, commented: "Beautiful!! Congratulations gorge." Ash Palmisciano, who plays Emmerdale's Matty Barton, shared: "Ah huge congratulations guys! she’s beautiful! so happy for you! Gorgeous family." And Mandy Dingle star Lisa Riley added: "Sending so much love to you and Mark and all the children…..we are crazy happy for you love, love and more love."
