ITV Emmerdale star issues apology as she upsets Gemma Collins with 'revolting' jibe

Samantha Giles has issued an apology to Gemma Collins after she branded the reality TV star "talentless".

Samantha, who is best known for her role as Bernice Blackstock in Emmerdale, made the remarks during a red carpet interview with the Daily Star. She said: "All these reality stars, I haven’t got a clue who they are. That Gemma Collins, I think I’d punch her if I ever came across her.

"I don’t know - how can someone so talentless and revolting have made so much money. I wouldn’t mind if she’d give it away and did something good with it, but all she seems to do is put more s*** on her face and do her nails."

The TOWIE personality hit back at the remarks on her Instagram Story and encouraged her fans to "be kind". Gemma wrote, alongside screenshots of the interview: "I don't find someone wanting to punch me a joke.

"Really upsetting. To think I loved her in Corrie. Nothing wrong with reality stars. We were all given an opportunity and we made the best out of it."

Samantha enjoyed a short stint on Coronation Street in 1994 and is renowned for her work on Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. The soap star has taken to Twitter to address Gemma's response.

She said: "Hi everyone I’m aware that comments I made on a press red carpet have been taken out of the context I meant them, so I’d like to apologise to @missgemcollins for my misjudged jokes which I honestly didn’t mean. I hope this apology is acceptable. Hands held up from me x"
