Emmerdale star Eden Taylor-Draper has declared her love for her co-star after she made an emotional exit from the show. Isobel Steele broke viewers' hearts on Wednesday night (October 19) as her character Liv Dingle died as part of the ITV soap's 50th anniversary celebrations.
The character became the second victim of the horror windstorm that left the quaint Yorkshire village in a mass of destruction. Liv became trapped underneath a rouge caravan as she and her husband Vinny attempted to make their way to The Woolpack. The couple had tried to make their journey from their home to the pub after a panicked Paddy Kirk arrived and told stepson Aaron that his mum, Chas, was in hospital after being injured in the storm.
As the pair planned to rush to be with her, vet Paddy asked Liv and Vinny if they'd mind going over to the pub to watch his and Chas' daughter, Eve. At the end of Tuesday's episode, viewers saw Liv and Vinny crushed by the vehicle after it was swept away in the blustering wind and last night, viewers finally discovered the pair's fate, with Vinny back on his feet desperate to help his wife. As Aaron and Paddy also rushed to help, Liv tearfully said: "I can't feel my legs."

It was Paddy who had to share the devastating news to Aaron, Vinny, and Mandy Dingle that there was nothing the emergency services could do as Liv being trapped under the caravan was the only thing keeping her alive. Liv, who realised she was dying, then told her broken husband: "I love you Vinny, I never knew anyone could make me so happy..." before closing her eyes and taking her final breath.
Isobel's exit comes following rumours she had quit the soap after six years. Taking to Instagram with a full cast snap and behind-the-scenes images from filming her final scenes, the soap actress said an emotional goodbye. " And that’s a wrap on Liv Dingle," she typed. "Hard to put into words what this show and the people in it mean to me and how big a decision it was to leave.
"Thank you to every single person I ever worked with and to those that pushed me to be a better person and a better actor. Thank you to everyone who watches the show and has supported me throughout, none of it went unnoticed. Thank you to Kate Oates, Ian MacLeod & Jane Hudson.
"I love you all so much, you know who you are. The most bizarre and wonderful place to have grown up. I’m gonna miss it so much." She ended her message: "On to the next!" She was flooded with messages from her former co-stars, including from Eden, who plays Emmerdale's Belle Dingle, as she simply commented: "ILY," which is a slang abbreviation for 'I Love You'.
She also took to her own Instagram Story to share a photo of them together, all glammed up, and wrote: "I am SO proud of you @isobelsteele. What a beautiful episode @emmerdale." There were also more individual posts, inlcuidng from Lisa Riley, who played her mother-in-law, Mandy.
"My favourite TIDDLES (Izzy)," Lisa started her lengthy post. "Thank you for your friendship, thank you for you talent, thank you for the laughs, thank you for your UNIQUENESS, thank you for your individuality, thank you for your kindness, thank you for our sofa days, thank you for your trust, thank you for NEVER knowing if it was a take or if it was a rehearsal, thank you for always finding time to care.
"It’s simple really, going to miss you like crazy because YOU are YOU!!! All the reasons above, is what makes you the truest version of YOU!! Shine like a star, stay as grounded as you’ve always been, mention me in your Golden Globes speech, and know we will be friends for life, and my life was richer having you in it. TIDDLES ON TOUR."
Isobel was quick to reply: " Love you always always. Thanks for the best couple of years. Moments I’ll never forget x." And it wasn't just her on-screen mother-on-law who has something to say as her on-screen husband Bradley Johnson also paid a gushing tribute alongside a string of images during filming some of their biggest scenes together as well as one of Isobel in Liv's home in the Dales.
"What can I say…. 3 years working with this legend," the soap star typed. "And what a few years it’s been! From getting off the booze to nearly dying in a bar, running off to get married and then getting crushed by a caravan, Vinny and Liv have certainly been through the works!"
He added: "But to have this storyline and being part of @emmerdale 50th has been an absolute dream! Go and smash it @isobelsteelee and please don’t forget me when you’re in Hollywood! Really going to miss ya." Isobel again was among the first to respond as she wrote: " Love you so much Brad. Best friend/husband. Gonna miss you so much xxxxxxxxxx."
