Sharon Marshall has bid Emmerdale farewell after six years working on the soap.
The screenwriter was responsible for some of the show's most dramatic, touching and harrowing scenes but after an incredible six years working her magic on its scripts, she told her followers her final moments have already come and gone.
The 51-year-old often appeared on ITV's This Morning to share secrets from inside the soaps but it is unclear whether or not she will still carry on the role.

Sharon took to Twitter to explain her final episode already aired on Friday, January 20. She added: "Off to writing pastures new now but it's been an absolute joy and privilege to play in the Dales for six years. I'll hugely miss the fabulous team."
Fans were devastated by the departure as they took to the comment section to share their dismay and wish Sharon the best in her new ventures.
One follower said: "I've said it before but you are one of my fave writers for the show. So, wherever you go next you'll have an audience (even if it's just me and the wife in Canadialand, haha).
"Thanks for all the great words, laughs and heartache. Can't wait to see what you do next." Another added: "All the best with whatever you go onto next. You'll be a miss in the Dales."
Before Sharon found her spot on Emmerdale she wrote for rival programme EastEnders on BBC One and was behind the return of Albert Square legend, Sharon Watts, in 2012.
