Emmerdale fans think Charles Anderson may have lied about what happened prior to him ending up in hospital. In scenes aired in the ITV soap earlier this week, viewers watched as Manpreet Sharma found her partner lying unconscious in the church with a head injury.
She had been outside the church and overheard a heated row between the vicar and his daughter, Naomi, who he only recently discovered existed as she was born after he left his ex-wife and was later adopted. The newcomer stormed out of the church and as Manpreet went inside, she found Charles on the floor.
He was rushed to the hospital where it was touch and go. During Tuesday's trip to the Dales, viewers discovered Charles was awake and will make a full recovery. Meanwhile, Manpreet was already convinced that Naomi had attacked her biological father and compared her to her serial killer sister Meena.

As Charles told them what really happened, Manpreet was left mortified and having to explain to both her man and the police that she had got it wrong. Charles confirmed Naomi didn't attack him. He said he tripped over his toolbox and hit his head on the font while trying to follow Naomi as she rushed out after their row. He had his toolbox out as he was looking at the electrics as Ethan's boyfriend Marcus Dean didn't show up to take a look.
During Wednesday night's Emmerdale, Charles made a speedy recovery and told Manpreet that he had to make amends with his daughter after she wrongly accused her of being responsible for his accident. Naomi was joined by adoptive mum Esme at the hospital where Manpreet was made to feel uncomfortable but they all agreed to put it behind them.
Later on in the programme, to Manpreet's surprise, Naomi asked Ethan whether she could move into his flat in order to keep an eye on Charles. And Naomi once again issued her biological dad's partner with a warning, saying that she has no plans in leaving the village any time soon.
But some Emmerdale fans have spotted an issue with Charles' story. @AsenDance2 tweeted: "I think he is covering something up, if he fell he wouldn’t of fell on his back #emmerdale." @DionPetrie asked: "Wouldn’t he have fell forward? Not on his back #Emmerdale." While @EivHogan suggested: "I don't know why, but I feel a bit like there's something a bit suspicious about Charles' daughter @emmerdale #emmerdale."
