Emmerdale fans were left surprised as David Metcalfe and Victoria Sugden finally returned to the village.
The new couple haven't been seen since last year after they both nearly died in the Survival Day horror and since Victoria was almost killed by Meena Jutla.
Since they've been away it has been revealed to the villagers that David's ex Meena is a serial killer as was responsible for the deaths of Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate, and Ben Tucker before holding Manpreet Sharma and Vinny Dingle hostage.
At the beginning of Friday night's episode, David gave son Jacob a fright when he surprised him by being back in the shop.

"What the hell are you doing?" he jumped. "Why didn't you say you were coming back," Jacob shouted, clearly on edge due to recent events.
"Sorry we've been away so long, thought Theo's ear infection was never gonna clear up," David told him, seemingly explaining his prolonged absence.
But all the while, Emmerdale fans were too busy looking at David's completely new look.
And it's really divided them.

And he even had some famous comparisons.

"#Emmerdale David thinks he's Justin Timberlake," @ChurchieBoy1986 said.
@shohar75 added: "Why does David look like David Beckham? #Emmerdale."
Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David in the ITV soap, unveiled his new look back in October.
The actor made fans gasp with his transformation after having his head shaved by his wife and children.
His wife and former Emmerdale co-star Charley Webb posted a video of their at-home salon as the scissors and clippers came out for Matthew, 41.
"It was a family effort," Charley captioned the fun video to the soundtrack of Hair by Little Mix.
Matthew and Isobel Hodgins, who plays Victoria, took a break from being on-screen after reportedly being caught up in a race row.
The pair were reportedly involved in an incident on the set of the soap.
