Emmerdale fans think they spotted 'real tears' during the soap's latest airing as Faith Dingle's time in the Dales begins to draw to a close. Viewers of the ITV soap have been left sobbing on multiple occasions in recent months as they watch the much-loved character suffer from terminal cancer.
Fans have been left gutted by Sally Dexter's impending exit as the Dingle matriarch after she was given the devastating news her cancer was back earlier this year. She has since endeavored to make the most of the time she has left with no treatment but in recent weeks her health has taken a downward turn.
And fans are already preparing themselves after spoilers reveal that Faith will go through with her decision to take her own life in heartbreaking scenes this week following an incredible gesture from her son, Cain, and the rest of the villagers as they bring the seaside to the Yorkshire Dales for a last perfect day.

During Tuesday night's edition of Emmerdale, viewers saw a determined Faith planning a trip to Whitby after reminiscing with her grandson, Aaron. Amid Cain's skepticism, Faith suffered a fall and ruled her much-hoped-for trip out of the question. But his mum hit back and made him promise that they'll still go to the seaside and that she'll be fine after a day's rest.
While Faith was resting on the sofa after her fall, she had a visit from Tracy Metcalfe who brought along baby Frankie to see her great-grandmother For a few moments Faith was confused and thought Tracy was her daughter, Chas but Tracy gently told her who she was and re-introduced her to little Frankie.
And things quickly became tearful as Tracy recalled to Faith how she had saved her life. Viewers will remember that Tracy suffered from post-natal depression after Frankie’s birth and after she ran away, it was Faith who found her sitting under her dad’s tree. In a bid to get Tracy to relax and come home, Faith brought a picnic and talked to Tracy, convincing her that she was ill and needed help.
"You saved me," a crying Tracy told Faith before sharing how much she loves Frankie, and that without Faith, Frankie would have lost her mum. As Faith told Frankie she'd be lucky to have half the strength her mum has, Tracy told her: "She's your blood, your genes. They’re pretty wonderful genes to have."
As they reacted to the dominant scene, Emmerdale fans were quick to believe that it wasn't fake emotion they were seen on screen. @c.dean1 said: "Those tears were real tonight from Tracy. Her face said it all. Beautifully done!!" @britgirl1983 posted: "I cannot stand Tracy, but this scene was just beatiful tonight and it seemed so real and genuine."
And the emotions continued as the latest episode drew to an end. As she got herself ready alongside Brenda, she recalled her aunt’s death and how it had been ‘cruel.’ She insisted: "When I go I want to still be me." Before Brenda told her: "Faith Dingle, fighter, mother, gob like a sewer, stubborn as a mule and the bravest most wonderful woman I’ve ever met,"
But as Emmerdale fans struggle through the highly emotional scenes, they've said the ITV soap has made a mistake letting Faith, and Sally, go. Tricia Law wrote on Facebook: "Big mistake writing her out! She is one of the best characters in a long time." Sandra English fumed: "Why do they always get rid of the great actors, she could have great story lines for years to come she'd slot into any storyline. Bad move Emmerdale." @kathyclarkewade tweeted: "I wish they could do a Tory u-turn and not kill Faith off after all, I’ll happily take 'we listened' on this!"
