ITV Emmerdale fans spot noticeable change seconds before ITV soap

Emmerdale fans were quick to notice quite a big change just seconds before the latest trip to the village. The ITV soap returned to screens on Monday night (July 18) with the fallout from Harriet calling social services on Dawn after she came home with her late friend's daughter, Clemmie.

Last week Dawn discovered her friend from when she was a sex worker had died and after attending her funeral, discovered she had her daughter who wasn't properly being looked after by her sister, Beth, who also scored drugs while in Dawn's company. Taking matters into her own hands, Dawn left with Clemmie and headed home.

She explained all to a surprised Billy and the pair decided they would tell social services but were biding their time. Meanwhile, Harriet returned home to find the young girl and had soon reported them, leading to Clemmie being taken into care leaving Dawn gutted. And during tonight's episode, she still wasn't happy with Harriet as she struggled to get social services to see Clemmie should be with them.

Meanwhile, Nicola discovered that sharing a video of her being attacked in order to try help find the culprits ended up with a girl being attacked and hospitalised. She had been searching a reoccurring name that had been appearing in response to the video only to find out others had taken matters into her own hands leaving her horrified.

Despite what was going on on-screen, Emmerdale fans were distracted as the soap made quite a big change. @ShakyWoon noted: "#Emmerdale now sponsored by Confused.com!" @TVMusings22 tweeted: "Confused.com sponsors #Emmerdale? now…How very fitting." @itzzzo_ commented: "Confused.Com sponsoring #Emmerdale is quite apt seeing as most of storylines can make you confused."

And it appears they are a fan. @ktlulu1985 tweeted: "#emmerdale has got rid of the postcode lottery yayyyyyy." @peter_whiteside said: "I see confused.com is the new sponsor of #Emmerdale at least we don't have to put up with any more of those awful Postcode Lottery skits." @chockies20 commented: "#emmerdale thank god those stupid postcode lottery adverts have ended. Drove me mad."

During the episode, Emmerdale tweeted: "We're proud to announce Confused.com as the new sponsors of Emmerdale on ITV. You just know The Woolpack would do a cracking Sunday Roast..." And actor Rupi Lal who appears in the pre-soap ad seemed pleased with his debut.

Resharing Emmerdale's post, he tweeted: "It’s me! (Lol) I’m very proud to be chosen for the @Confused_com sponsorship of @emmerdale And yes, the Woolpack does a cracking Sunday Roast! #Emmerdale."

The move had already been announced last week. John Whiston, Managing Director of Continuing Drama, said: "This couldn’t be a more fitting partnership. We’re delighted to welcome confused.com on board as a sponsor. Emmerdale is truly beloved and iconic, and as the soap enters its 50th year, what better time to hail a new commercial era."

Samuel Day, CMO at Confused.com, added: "This opportunity to sponsor Emmerdale brings this to life as we watch the storylines and everyday confusions unfold in the Dales. Soap operas are the perfect entertainment or escapism for so many. So, to us, it felt like a natural opportunity to partner with a historic and much-loved show as it celebrates a key milestone – while we celebrate our 20th year."
