Emmerdale fans were flocking to social media as they spotted a major problem with David Metcalfe's plans to kidnap his own daughter. The shop owner was left gutted when he found out that his former partner Priya Sharma had accepted a new job in London.
Priya wasn't originally in line for the role with Justin, who she met at a Take A Vow event, initially offering the job to her co-worker and friend, Leyla Cavanagh. While Leyla took her time to come up with an answer, wanted to ask her son Jacob and estranged husband Liam for their thoughts first, Priya jumped at the chance when Justin offered her the job - not knowing about his conversations with Leyla.
It came after Priya's past trauma from being trapped in serial killer Meena Jutla's horror maze comes back to haunt her. Earlier this week, Priya was reminded of the maize maze, in which she was left with serious burns, when a veil caught on fire from nearby candles during the event.

While the small fire was quickly put out, Priya froze in fear as the memories of the day she could have died and sustained terrible burn injuries came rushing back before she fled and was found having a panic attack by brother Jai and local doctor Manpreet.
The following day, after speaking to her therapist and vowing not to let her trauma take over her life, Priya bumped into Juston and told him why she really found the veil mishap so upsetting, prompting him to invite her for a coffee so they can talk further as he was impressed by her resilience.
However, Leyla wasn't happy when Priya told her the job news, claiming that her friend had took to job on purpose to stop her from being able to make a fresh start away from the village. Leyla did later apologise but slipped up when talking to David and Eric about Priya's new role.
David was later soon taking his and Priya's daughter Amba and his son Theo on trip away as claimed that he was fine with Priya taking his little girl with her to London. But as he was about to set off in his van, he released that he hadn't given Priya Amba's passport before driving the kids off on a 'great adventure'.
Spoilers have already revealed that Leyla does manage to track David down to an anonymous cottage to try and talk some sense into him. But he's not willing to listen to reason, and in his continued madness, he locks Leyla in the bathroom at the cottage to stop her from calling the police while back in the village, Priya loses patience waiting for David to do the right thing and dials 999 to report him.
But during Wednesday night's scenes in the ITV soap, Emmerdale fans couldn't help but point out a problem with David's escape. @DavidBrowning23 asked: "@emmerdale I thought David had a driving ban…..??? How is he driving his van now?" @sallyjane90 echoed: "Thought David lost his license?! Are we meant to have forgotten this already? #emmerdale."
@BerniKennedy wrote: "Didn’t David lose his license? #emmerdale." However, @sophiej403 pointed out: "He said like 10 minutes before that, that he hasn’t lost it yet as it’s not gone to court yet or something, but that he will be doing in like 2 weeks or something along those lines."
