Coronation Street star Jane Danson has been told she 'looks the same' after sharing a sweet throwback photo. The actress is best known to viewers for playing Leanne Battersby in the ITV soap but just like a whole host of ITV stars, Jane started out on one particular TV show.
The Bury-born star played one of Children Ward’s regular characters, Paula, from 1995 to 1997. Children's Ward was the children's drama that became one of the best-loved programmes on CITV - and it was filmed in Greater Manchester. Debuting its first episode in March 1989, the soap opera for kids was shot in Bolton at the Bolton General Hospital, which is now the Royal Bolton Hospital.
And despite being aimed at children and teenagers, Children's Ward didn't shy away from difficult issues with storylines involving cancer, alcoholism, drug addiction, and child abuse.

The BAFTA Children's Award-winning show ran for 12 series until May 2002, producing a total of 143 episodes. Almost 20 years after Children's Ward came to end an end, we wondered what had happened to some of its stars.
While she had a regular appearance on Children's Ward, it wasn't Jane's television debut as she first appeared in the 1991 Alan Bleasdale series GBH as Eileen Critchley. Buttaking to Instagram last month, Jane shared a photo from her first-ever photoshoot for Children's Ward.
The now-44-year-old was donning a pair of jeans and a green top and was sweetly posing for the camera. "Tbt - throwing it back to the 90’s- my first ever photoshoot for ‘childrens ward.'" Jane captioned the post before adding: "Such happy times."
Corrie star and on-screen sister Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Habeeb in the ITV soap, was among the first to comment, writing: "Gorgeous then. Gorgeous now." Sally Carman, who plays Corrie's Abi Webster, commented: "That lil face!" The soap's Shona Platt star Julia Goulding replied: "Jane!! Look at you!! Such a beauty, always."
Corrie icon Sally Dynevor shared: "Aaaaah Jane." Former Corrie star Ryan Thomas, who played Jason Grimshaw, typed: "Wowwwww." While Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies added: "Oh my gosh! What happy days! Oh Jane!"
Fans, meanwhile, were quick to comment on Jane's ageless appearance. @graham_d_watkins said: "Pretty much look the same Jane." @gailh0109 commented: "Not aged one bit by this photo." @gemma.ryan.775 posted: "Haven't changed a bit." @annawoods4443 shared: "You haven’t aged at all, beautiful woman." @itslindamary added: "You haven’t changed."
