ITV Corrie's Georgia Taylor worlds away from Toyah drama in loved-up snaps with rarely seen partner

Viewers last saw her slumped at the wheel of a car after a horror crash but Coronation Street's Toyah Habeeb star couldn't be further away from the drama. Actress Georgia Taylor has played the character in the ITV soap on and off since 1997.

Over the years she has been involved in plenty of major storylines and another biggie is literally underway. During Tuesday night's trip to Weatherfield, Corrie fans saw Toyah and her new husband Imran unconscious in their car after an un-screened crash, leaving them completely confused.

It comes as the recently married couple battle Abi Franklin for custody of her and Imran's son, Alfie. As the week started, viewers saw a flashforward of Imran leaving a chilling message for Toyah in which he revealed everything about what he has been up to, lying to the court about Abi using drugs again to get his way.

We have since been following the shocking consequences of Imran's lies, which included Abi trying to do a runner to Costa Rica with her son before being caught out by the solicitor and now a horror smash which has left both of their lives hanging in the balance.

But with the soap filming in advance, Georgia has ditched the UK for a holiday so couldn't be further away from what is happening to her character on-screen.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday night (May 31), Georgia re-shared a post from her rarely-seen partner, Mark Letheren. The actor, who is also a keen photographer, shared a photo of the pair enjoying the sun in Madeira. In the couple snap, Georgia could be seen with a big smile of her face as they sat down for some refreshments.

Her eyes were covered by a pair of tortoiseshell shades while Mark, who starred as journalist Simon Kitson in the ITV drama The Bill and played counsellor Ben Harding in BBC One's Casualty, smiled as he took the pic while also wearing a pair of shades and keeping his longer locks out of the way with a hat.

Mark has since returned to the social media platform to share another loved-up picture of the pair. Again, Georgia couldn't wipe the smile off her face as she threw her arm round her long-term partner who was giving her a peck on the cheek.

Wigan-born Georgia teased her trip away last week. The actress was flooded with compliments from her Corrie co-stars as she got herself 'holiday ready' by paying a trip to the salon. "Hair is holiday ready! Thanks again to the brilliant @hair_by_carmenedmondson," she shared alongside a bunch of snaps to her thousands of followers showing off her freshly dyed do which featured some silvery blonde tones which glistened in the light.

Earlier this month Lorraine Kelly was left apologising to Georgia Taylor following an accidental marriage slip-up when she appeared on her self-titled ITV show. The soap star was on hand to chat to Lorraine about her current storyline alongside Imran Habeeb actor Charlie De Melo.

As well as her soap alter-ego, Georgia was also asked about her private life. Lorraine remarked: "We saw you in Law and Order, we saw you in Blackpool, and of course we saw you in Casualty, so many other things that you did. I mean it’s great to have you back and I love the fact that in Casualty, you know you always make friends on set, that’s where you met your husband, which is rather lovely. The two of you being in sort of the same job, it’s really nice that."

Georgia, 42, then had to correct the host as she replied: "Yeah, we’re actually not married but we practically are because we’ve been together so long." Lorraine quickly apologised, saying: "Oh I’m so sorry! I keep doing this!"

"That’s okay," Georgia reassured her as she carried on with her love tale. "We met, he was a sort of semi-regular character, he was playing a councilor ironically, which is then what Toyah ended up doing. We met, gosh 13 years ago. So yeah, got him out of the job and lots of friends and it was a really good time."
