Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney has told fans 'don't mess' after the latest scenes in her storyline aired. Earlier this week, fans of the ITV soap saw Amy Barlow lash out at smug Aaron Sandford at a birthday party thrown for their friend Nina Lucas.
After wrestling with her buried feelings, Amy, who went to the police after realising she had been raped by her male friend, snapped after seeing him flirting with a group of girls. He then put his hand on her which triggered distressing memories. "I know what you are and you know what you are," she told him before she started to hit him.
Her friends Summer Spellman and Aadi Alahan went after her and Summer told her: "I've never seen you like that before." And Amy told her: "I've never been raped before. There, I said it." Explaining what had happened she said: "I was gone. I passed out. I didn't get a say."

Last month, in disturbing Corrie scenes, Aaron, played by James Craven, preyed on his girlfriend's best friend Amy Barlow after the pair ended up drinking together at the flat they shared. Aaron raped Amy in the ITV soap but has continued to deny any wrongdoing.
After having drinks to celebrate Aaron qualifying to become a mechanic at Kevin Webster's garage, events took a dark turn as Amy, played by Elle Mulvaney, went to her bedroom to find more booze and Aaron, played by James Craven, followed her. As they sat down on the bed Aaron complimented Amy and kissed her in the storyline exploring consent.
Amy then declared that she felt sick and rolled away from him. But Aaron moved in closer and continued to kiss Amy, who was unaware of what was happening as he was seen making the decision for her that they would have sex. It wasn't until the next day that Amy released what had happened and it wasn't until later that she spoke to her parents in moving scenes.
Following the latest episode, Elle, who has played Amy since 2010, shared a clip of the moment the uni student lost it with Aaron. Typing on her Instagram Story, she wrote: "Don't mess with Amy B." She also tweeted the same post and fans were quick to praise her for her performance.
@CHG3899 said: "You were phenomenal in that scene. Well done." @MrBlitzed replied: "Such a strong performance yet again. 100%." @Warennie24 wrote: @Well deserved hope Amy gets justice in the end." @ParrellDenise added: "Amy has the strong backbone of Tracy!"
She later followed up her Instagram Story post with a glam selfie. The soap star looked gorgeous in a floral dress as she experimented with shimmering yellow eyeshadow and said: "Thanks for all the messages about last night's ep."
