Corrie viewers had a big reaction to the latest twist in the shocking story of Imran Habeeb's death. Fans have been gripped by the story of what happened to newlyweds Imran and Toyah in the run-up to a horror car smash.
On Friday night (June 3) Coronation Street fans finally found out what had unfolded before solicitor Imran tragically lost his life. Toyah had claimed she couldn't remember anything before the car she was driving, with Imran in the passenger seat, ploughed into a building covered by scaffolding.
But viewers saw Toyah appear to remember exactly what had happened, and she had deleted an incriminating voicemail from her husband. Through flashbacks soap watchers saw that her new husband had confessed to her during the car journey about framing addict Abi Webster.

He lied that she was still using drugs so that he and Toyah could keep baby Alfie who he fathered with Abi during a one-night-stand. Toyah had previously denied this when questioned by police in hospital.
When Imran he confessed the truth Toyah, who had for years longed to be a mum, told him coldly: "I hate you Imran. I hate you with all my heart." The scene then cut to their car speeding into the building without stopping.
Toyah broke down in tears when she was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and shown CCTV of the smash. After being released on bail and discovering that Alfie had been placed in care she told her sister Leanne Battersby that she was going to stay with a cousin for a few days.
But there was unexpected scene at the end of Wednesday's episode (June 8) as Toyah was shown hiding out at her flat, sobbing over the events of the past few days. And viewers were instantly reminded of a similar story involving Leanne.
In harrowing scenes in 2020 Leanne hid in her flat over Christmas after the tragic loss of her three-year-old son Oliver, who passed away from Mitochondrial Disease. The grieving mum made the decision to remove herself from her loved-ones and stay holed-up in her flat for the festive period and beyond while pretending to be in France.
@taz_mtn exclaimed on Twitter: "Toyah's doing a Leanna!" @DionPetrie said: "Ah the old pretend to leave but stay at home bit." @russelltruran asked: "Didn’t Leanne pretend to go away somewhere once and she was actually at home all along? When she was grieving for Oliver?"
@noelphobic wrote: "So Toyah has done what Leanne did when her son died. Yet it didn't occur to Leanne." @xxAlicia89 said: "Toyah doing exactly what Leanne did. Pretending she's away and hiding in the flat." And @EmperorMendoza shouted: "Has Leanne forgotten how she behaved, after she lost Oliver? GO TO TOYAH’S FLAT!!!
Toyah, played by Georgia Taylor, is increasingly losing support with her ex Peter Barlow suspicious due to Toyah's previous scam to pass off Eva Price's baby Susie as their own when they were together. As Peter explained his thoughts over Toyah's fixation on being a mother, Leanne later admitted to partner Nick Tilsley that she also couldn't help but wonder if she had crashed on purpose.
