Coronation Street fans were quick to point out Beth Sutherland's major blunder as she looks set to break her husband Kirk's heart. The Underworld machinist hasn't been having the best time with her other half after he discovered she lied about slapping Hope Stape.
Last month fans of the ITV soap were fuming at firestarter Hope as she was caught weasel-handed after accusing Peanut the dachshund of biting her. After the twisted 12-year-old cried wolf and said the adorable dog had attacked her, her parents Fiz and Tyrone Dobbs backed her up and told her that Peanut might have to be put down.
Her lies were exposed when her adoptive dad Tyrone caught Hope sneaking out of the backyard carrying David’s stuffed weasel from the barber shop, and he worked out that he had used its teeth to mark herself. For once, Hope straight-up admitted her lie and said it was in revenge suspecting that Peanut had killed her pet chinchilla, Cilla.

Tyrone and Fiz gave Hope a telling-off before apologising to Peanut's owner Beth and Kirk. But there was a further twist when Beth confronted her in the street about almost losing her dog because of her cruel accusation. However, viewers soon discovered that Hope was, for once, telling the truth.
And Beth's actions were finally revealed to Fiz, Tyrone and Kirk much to their horror and dismay. It's fair to say it has put a strain on Beth and Kirk's relationship, with Kirk and Tyrone being best mates. But on top of that, Kirk found an old letter from his wife's former flame Marco in their memory box and immediately took offence.
After seeking advice from Glenda Shuttleworth, the barmaid cheekily used Beth's phone to add Marco as a friend on social media and it wasn't long before they were chatting, with Beth simply claiming she was retrieving a vinyl record he never returned to her. During Monday's trip to Weatherfield (March 14), the former couple met up for a catch-up.
In the Rovers before her reunion, Beth admitted to Glenda: "I am bricking it, do you think I should just call it off? What if he gets the wrong end of the stick? What if he turns up and is disappointed with what he sees?"
Trying to calm her down, Glenda replied: "If you are just meeting up as friends..." before Beth interrupted and adamantly said: "I am not going to cheat on Kirky. Even though we are just meeting up as mates I still want to make a good impression ok! What's wrong in that? Kirky gets jealous and we are only meeting up as mates."
Beth eventually headed to meet Marco and the pair instantly got on like a house on fire. The pair were heard reminiscing about when they were together before Marco returned the vinyl she had asked for. The pair then stumbled out of the Bistro and as they said goodbye, Marco accidentally kissed his former love interest.
But Corrie fans pointed out Beth's error with her wanting to keep her meet-up with Marco a secret. @Jamal06122771 tweeted: "Beth has no shame. How can you meet Marco at the Bistro, or even in an area you and Kirk live? #corrie #coronationstreet." @Clawmaw noted: "Not Beth meeting up with Marco on her own doorstep, where everyone she knows can see her #Corrie #CoronationStreet."

Meanwhile, others were unimpressed about Beth's decision after the meeting with Marco as she headed into Dev's shop. @DJNeilNeale replied: "Beth just been in a Bistro all afternoon, that serves food, but comes out and buys a microwave burger from Dev....Haute Cuisine #Corrie." @GregDav94758992 posted alongside a sick face emoji: "Microwavable burgers... #Corrie." @Samanth22356123 added: "She’s getting a sh***y microwave burger from the shop yet there’s a kebab shop round the corner??!! #Corrie."
