Coronation Street fans were stunned by the sight of Nick Tilsley as he had tense words with his son Sam. The dapper character, played by Ben Price, looked out of sorts in scenes with Sam and his partner Leanne Battersby in Monday night's episode (November 7).
Corrie viewers were reeling as Nick showcased a massive black eye after he was punched last week by Tyrone Dobbs. And he was irritable as Sam continued to press the issue of wanting to visit his mum Natasha Blakeman's killer Harvey Gaskell, with Nick nasily branding him his "penpal."
Tyrone lost his cool as partner Fiz showed him the first extracts from the book about her late ex husband John Stape book in the Gazette. Then daughter Hope went missing and was found with Sam, who explained he took her out of school because he was upset about the nasty things her classmates were saying about her serial killer dad.

Fiz was in tears when Nick said he’d appreciate it if fire-starting hellraiser Hope stayed away from Sam. Tyrone marched round to see him and when Nick opened the door the mechanic punched him hard.
Fans of the Weatherfield soap flocked to Twitter to ask questions when they clocked Nick's 'OTT' shiner. @floweroflondon tweeted: "I got direct and close hits paintballing that looked less extreme than Nick's black eye."
@JoRussell_FM mocked: "Nick Tilsley looks like he's been 7 rounds with Mike Tyson, yet he was only punched by Tyrone! That eye is quite something." And @ADADAPPADAN said: "The make-up department have been a bit OTT recently, what, wi' the excessive foundation on Max's face & the faaar too exaggerated black eye/bruise on, Nick!"
@AndyGibsonTV asked: "Why has Nick got a black eye looking like a panda?" And @keldave78 asked: "You sure it was Tyrone who hit Nick??? By the look at that eye, I would say @Tyson_Fury lol. @itvcorrie #corrie."
