ITV Coronation Street youngsters make rare red carpet appearance as soap stars head out for theatre night

They're rarely seen away from the Coronation Street cobbles. But a few of the soaps youngest and brightest stars hit the red carpet in Greater Manchester on Wednesday night.

There was a soap takeover as Corrie, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks stars all headed to The Lowry in Salford, just a stone's throw from the street itself, to watch a brand new show. Disney’s classic movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks has made its world premiere as an exciting new stage musical at the theatre this week and the stars were out for its big press night on Wednesday night (March 15).

Jude Riordan, who plays Corrie's plucky youngster Sam Blakeman, was all smiles as he posed for the camera ahead of watching the show. Following the show, the 10-year-old actor, who also stars alongside Michelle Keegan in Sky comedy Brassic, posed outside his usual workplace, commenting: "The show was AMAZING," before laughing: "Dirty stop out," as the evening set on the ITV studio.

Also joining Jude at the show was Kyran Bowes best known to viewers for playing Jack Webster in Corrie as well as Charlie Wrenshall who plays the soap's Liam Connor.

Kyran plays the son of Kevin Webster and the late Molly Dobbs. He was born as the result of Kev's affair with Molly while he was married to Sally Webster and she was to Tyrone Dobbs.

The 15-year-old took on the role of now 11-year-old Jack in 2016 after the character was played by twins Jaxon and Maddox Beswick.

Meanwhile, Charlie has appeared as Maria Windass' son Liam, with the late Liam Connor, since October 2012, taking over the role from twins Ollie and Elliott Barnett who had made their final appearances the previous August.

There was also a very sweet moment on the red carpet as Freddie and Isaac Rhodes shared a cuddle. The twin brothers appear as Harry Platt - who is the son of Sarah Barlow from her short relationship with sister-in-law Kylie Platt's drug dealer ex, Callum Logan - and have done so since February 2017.

The adorable youngsters, like Charlie and Kyran, took over from twins Pixie and Presley Sellars in the role of Harry.

Corrie's Jack James Ryan (Rachel Poxon)

Also heading to The Lowry to watch the first performances of the musical from the cast of Corrie was Rob Mallard, who plays Daniel Osbourne, and his former on-screen flame and the recently returned Kimberly Hart-Simpson (Nicky Wheatly), and the soap's mother and daughter pair Kel Allen (Laura Neelan) and Millie Gibson (Kelly Neelan).

Jack James Ryan, who returned to the soap as bad boy Jacob Hay earlier this year, also rocked up to the red carpet looking worlds away from his on-screen alter ego in a pair of stone-coloured chinos and black, high-neck top.

Emmerdale's Bradley Johnson with a guest at the press night (Rachel Poxon)

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's Bradley Johnson (Vinny Dingle), and Samantha Giles (Bernice Blackstock) also showed up to witness the musical magic as did Hollyoaks star Annie Wallace, who plays Sally St. Claire in the Channel 4 soap.

Bedknobs and Broomstick previously flew into the Palace Theatre in Manchester back in October last year and is back at The Lowry until Saturday (March 19).
