They may look like happy families now but things are set to take a turn for Laura and Kelly Neelan and Gary Windass in Coronation Street. Earlier this month viewers watched as Laura moved in with daughter Kelly who was living with Gary and wife Maria as well as her son Liam.
The decision came as teen Kelly struggled to look after her mum, who returned to Weatherfield earlier this year when she revealed she was dying, as well as keep up with her school work and job at the barbers, Trim Up North.

And what was once a good idea quickly turned for Gary and Maria as Laura shared her decision to hire a private investigator to try and track estranged husband Rick down for his money so that she leave it to Kelly once she's gone. It signaled the start of the net closing in on former bad boy Gary as Corrie fans know that he killed loan shark Rick back in 2019, after he made two attempts to kill him over his unpaid debts, and buried Rick's body in the woods.
But Corrie fans will have seen Laura's private investigator asking Gary a few questions and later this week Laura Neelan confronts Gary over Rick's disappearance after her PI tells her that he had no luck in tracking down Rick and not just that, that he thinks Rick is dead.
A preview clip of Friday's episode sees Gary trying to convince Laura that it can't be true before she hits out: "This bloke, he knows all about the police investigation!’, she exclaims. ‘They think he’s dead. And they think you did it!"
It has already been revealed that Rick's hidden body is found at the building site of the new Weatherfield County FC ground with pictures showing former loan shark Gary looking very shifty as he filmed dramatic the new scenes.
There's also set be tears when Kelly is hit by the devastating news that her dad is dead. The actress who plays her, Millie Gibson, was snapped earlier this month filming what is set to be her father Rick's funeral at a church in Manchester alongside Mikey North, who plays Gary, and Samia Longchambon was also seen as Gary's wife Maria.
But before the death drama kicks off on-screen, Millie, Mikey and Laura actress Kel Allen have been teasing fans with a look behind the scenes. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Kel shared a selfie of the trio on-set in Maria and Gary's flat. "FAMILY PORTRAIT," the actress captioned the snap before adding: "The Neelans and Windass."
And fans were soon commenting.
