Coronation Street star Alex Bain was sporting a very different look as he dined out with his girlfriend earlier this week. The actor, who is best known to fans for playing Simon Barlow in the ITV soap, enjoyed a mid-week date night with his other half, Mollie Lockwood.
The soap star took to Instagram to share a glimpse of his 'lovely' meal with his 'girl' with his thousands of followers. In one clip, Alex could be seen getting ready to get stuck in to a lamb kofta at The Botonist.
The 21-year-old smiled at the camera as he waited to tuck in to his hanging kebab and fries. But he looked almost unrecognisable from when we last saw him on-screen in Weatherfield.

Alex was seen sporting a moustache as well as more dark facial hair around his chin while his curly locks looked longer than usual. He looked completely different from his Weatherfield character as he sat with his arms folded on the table while wearing a black button-up shirt decorated which was emblazoned with various patches.
Sharing a photo of a fancy-looking cocktail as his night cap, Alex said: "What a way to end a lovely meal with my girl," before adding a heart emoji and tagging Mollie in the post.
But the celebrations didn't end there as it appears staff through it was Alex's birthday. The Blackburn-born actor was seen grinning alongside a yummy dessert which has a 'Happy Birthday' card attached. "Apparently it's my birthday now," he laughed.
Thank you @thebotonistuk for my five-month early birthday wishes!" He added a string of crying laughing emojis as he saw the funny side. While Mollie wasn't seen, Alex recently shared a love-up post from his girlfriend to his Instagram page featuring beaming photos of the pair.
The couple were out at cocktail bar The Guild Chester when they posed in front of a neon sign depicting angel wings. Mollie looked stunning in a figure-hugging black dress and matching boots as she gripped onto her partner who was also dressed in all black. "We look good in black," Alex wrote alongside the snaps.
Alex's recent night out comes after he suffered an accident last month. The soap star previously shared pictures as he sat in a wheelchair at Royal Blackburn Hospital A&E department a couple of weeks ago before he jetted off on holiday. He showed his injury being supported by a medical boot as he explained: "Don’t worry guys it’s just my ankle."
At the start of this month, Alex, who has played Simon in Corrie since 2008, gave his 21,000 Instagram followers an update as he revealed that his ankle is still strapped up. He shared a picture from the fracture clinic at the Royal Blackburn Hospital showing him wearing the moon boot.
He said: "Update on the ankle: I'm at the fracture clinic having a check up and X Ray to see how it is doing!" And Alex promised: "I will keep you all updated!"
