Coronation Street star Jane Danson has shared how she was left in tears as she headed on a sweet date night with her husband. The actress and her man, former Hollyoaks star Robert Beck, took some time out from work and parent duties to attend a gig together at the start of the week.
Jane, who is known for playing Leanne Battersby in the ITV soap, took to Instagram with a snap of the pair as they posed for a selfie together as they headed out to watch Australian singer-songwriter Darren Hayes at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall.
Jane and Rob, who played Fergus Collins. in Hollyokas in 2021 but is also well known for starring as Peter Harrison in Brookside, were all smiles in the photo as they watched the former Savage Garden star perform hits from his days in the group as well as his solo career.
"What a brilliant night seeing @darrenhayes," Jane started the caption of her post before revealing the sentimental reason behind going to the show. "It was so special for us to see him live as his music played a huge part in our wedding," the 44-year-old explained.
She added: "Obviously cried like a baby when I heard ‘Truly, madly, deeply’ what a voice, what a show! I want to go again!!" Jane's on-screen sister, Corrie co-star Georgia Taylor was among the first to respond to the post and focussed on the couple themselves, writing: "Cuties," alongside a red heart emoji.
Fans, meanwhile, were also quick to share their own connections to the hit Savage Garden track Jane mentioned and share their own thoughts after seeing the singer live themselves. @suzyh1801 shared: "Amazing isn't he we saw him in Newcastle."
@clairelpeakall commented: "Truly madly deeply was our 1st dance at our wedding 24 years ago." @janewade3350 replied: "I feel the same, went to see him last week, amazing. 'I knew I loved you' is the song that melts my heart." @denisemarie2005 added: WSaw him in Glasgow on Friday and also cried like a baby when he told his stories. Amazing show and amazing voice."
It comes just a week after Jane shared her joy as she attended another live show. The soap star couldn't hide her delight at being able to catch Eurovision star Sam Ryder whilst he was in the city and shared a snap of the singer on stage with her 130k followers. "Saw @samhairwolfryder last night in Manchester! Wow," she wrote alongside the action shot.
"Not only is he super talented he had photos with his fans while they were waiting to get into the venue in the Manchester rain. An incredible talent- what a guy! Would love to see him duet with @ladygaga - can you imagine."
