Charlotte Jordan has revealed her Christmas plans while also jokingly shaming her Coronation Street co-star Rob Mallard, who appeared a little less enthused about the festive season. The pair are preparing for a break while things get busier for their characters on-screen.
Next week, fans of the ITV soap will see Daisy Midgley jealous when Daniel Osbourne sees a magazine article written by his ex Bethany Platt, with the Rovers Return barmaid unnerved at the mention of his ex. But it inspires Daniel and he decides it’s time he started writing again.
That same week, Daisy suffers a scare when she reveals that she’s found a lump in her breast. On Jenny Connor's advice, she tells a shaken Daniel who insists he’ll accompany her to the doctors, But as he knocks back drink in the Rovers, Jenny’s horrified to realise he’s let Daisy down.
He eventually does arrive to the appointment, bursting through the doors drunk and Daisy is left heartbroken by Daniel's behaviour. As she struggles and Daniel tells her she's better off without him, it's Adam who steps in to get the pair back on track.
With things seemingly being patched up between the pair, Daisy and Daniel attend the appointment at the breast clinic together. And with Daisy now seeing life with a new perspective following her cancer scare, it appears Daniel is also looking to the future and after asking for her blessing, Daniel shows Jenny the engagement ring he’s bought for Daisy and explains how he plans to surprise her.
And while a Christmas of celebrations look certain for Daisy and Daniel on-screen, what's about for Charlotte and Rob off-screen? Asked if he's looking forward to Christmas, Rob admitted: "I've been told I have to look forward to it. I've been told I have to put a tree up and put a wreath on the door as well.
"I just think Christmas is not magical unless you've got kids or if you're around kids. This year I will be, I'll be with my nieces and nephews so I imagine it will be quite a magical one but without that or being young enough to be in the magic, it's just a big p**s up."
Charlotte, however, said: "Luckily I am a giant child so I have no probably getting into the Christmas spirit." She then outed her co-star by saying: "You tell them what you've got instead of a tree right now..." to which Rob replied: "A Poinsettia with a bauble hanging on it," to which Charlotte declared: "It's rubbish."
He then teased: "I took picture of it close up so it probably looks bigger than what it is. It's probably smaller than you think it is actually." But luckily, Charlotte is "ready for Christmas" and is going to spend it with family back down south as well as seeing her boyfriend's family.
"I have no children to be around which is absolutely fine by me because I can get hammered, I don't have to filter anything and I can swear as much as I like," Charlotte laughed.
