Coronation Street fans have said it's 'not looking good' as they fear for Roy Cropper. Weatherfield's legendary resident was seen pulling out of his Salsa class with pal Evelyn Plummer during Monday night's trip to the cobbles (April 17) as he simply told her: "I have to go, I'm sorry".
Evelyn, played by Maureen Lipman, was left put out by Roy ditching her mid-class with Glenda Shuttleworth and later thought he had been reminded of his dancing days with his late wife Hayley. She asked Roy, made famous by actor David Neilson, outright why he had left, and said she understood that he had left because dancing with her was "somehow disrespectful to Hayley's memory".
But the cafe owner shut her down. "I did think of Hayley fondly, but that wasn't it". Evelyn was still not pleased as she felt she had been abandoned for nothing, despite Roy explaining he hadn't been feeling well. She also grumbled to her grandson Tyrone Dobbs who told his grandmother that Roy wouldn't have left without good reason, giving Evelyn food for thought.

At the end of the episode, Roy was seen with his new pet pooch Freddie, who he has taken in following the sudden death of his friend and Freddie's owner. Speaking to the pooch, Roy rubbed his chest and appeared to be struggling to breathe, leading to Corrie fans flocking to social media to plea for the much-loved character to be kept safe.
@orlamct pleaded: "Do not take Roy Cropper from us #corrie." @rozlaws tweeted: "No, not our Roy! Don't you dare make him ill. #corrie." @mishybabez_ posted: "What's up with Roy? Protect him at all costs #Corrie." @Rachel_Coombs added: "If they kill Roy off, that will be the end of me #corrie."
But others think they have already worked out what his issue is. @suzicarrigan said: "Roy will be allergic to Freddie, so Evelyn will end up with him #Corrie." @PatHeggie commented: "Poor Roy is allergic to Freddie #corrie." @Momrocks50 tweeted: "Roy oh dear is he allergic to the dog not looking good #corrie."
@TheMandyHayes wrote: "Do not make Roy ill... or is he allergic to the dog and then Evelyn has to adopt him...#corrie." @scrivo35 added: "#corrie I think Roy is allergic to the dog and Tyrone will end up with it."
Later this week a concerned, Roy will be seen attending an appointment with Dr Gaddas and describes how he’s been suffering chest pains and breathlessness. Dr Gaddas tells him she’ll arrange for some tests. When Evelyn finds out she insists on accompanying him to the hospital.
