Coronation Street fans have been doing more detective work despite Toyah Habeeb confessing to purposely crashing her car after Imran Haeeb admitted to lying in court about Abi Webster, their neighbour and mother of Imran's surprise baby.
In shock scenes, Imran saved his wife's life just weeks after they said 'I Do' after they became trapped in their car after it plowed into a scaffolding-clad building. But as Toyah was bundled into an ambulance, it was Imran who collapsed and died at the scene from a cardiac arrest.
And fans of the ITV soap were horrified in June when it appeared to be confirmed that Toyah was responsible for the crash that killed the solicitor. The pair had faced a difficult time before their marriage after it was revealed that Imran was the father of baby Alfie.
In scenes aired on Wednesday night (September 14), Corrie fans watched as Toyah was able to spend some time with Alfie for the first time in months, And seeing her husband's baby, and with her impending murder trial looming, appeared to trigger Toyah's guilt over the crash.
As she sat with Alfie in Victoria Garden, Toyah was in tears as she told the tot she was sorry for taking his dad away. She was spotted by Rovers barmaid Gemma Winter who tried to check she was ok before going to the Bistro to tell Leanne Battersby she saw her sister in a bit of state.
Panicked, Leanne went to find Toayh - but she had gone awol. She enlisted the help of Spider Nugent who managed to track her down and take her back to Leanne and Nick Tilsley's flat. Shortly after arriving back, Toyah broke down in tears in front of Spider, who she recently rekindled her romance with, as he tried to comfort her.
But she declared: "Please don't be kind to me, shut up, just shut up." As he tried to tell her she was worth of kindness, she shockingly told him: "You deserve to know the truth, it wasn't an accident, I murdered him, I murdered Imran... you're not listening to me, no, I lied to the police. I remember exactly what happened, I crashed the car on purpose!"
As she confessed, she was unaware Leanne also heard everything outside the front door and came bursting in. Spider, who has this week been revealed to viewers as being an undercover police officer, was left stunned. Backing away, he told her: "No, don't say that, I can't be hearing this" before walking out and at the end of the episode he was seen blanking Toyah's calls.
And while it seems like Spider has a decision to make over whether he hands the information he now has on Toyah over to DS Swain, some think the job could partly be done for him thanks to a piece of his colourful jewellery.
@OX0X0X0 tweeted: "Ooo, is Spider's necklace a wire...? Lol #Corrie." @Daz0289 commented: "Toyah you are screwed Spider was wearing a wire? #Corrie." @goshwowhello asked: "Is Spider’s funky necklace a wire? #Corrie." @Willswhinge echoed: "Is there a wire hidden in Spider's shit necklace? #corrie." @floweroflondon added: "If Spider's wearing a wire, Toyah's toast #Corrie."
