ITV Coronation Street fans think they know what happens to Toyah after court scenes

Coronation Street fans watched with interest as Toyah Habeeb took to the stand at the start of her trial for murder. It couldn't have come at a worse time for the ITV soap character, played by Georgia Taylor, as earlier this week she confessed all to her former flame Spider Nugent.

The former counsellor told him that she purposely crashed the car, carrying her and Imran Habeeb, after he admitted to lying in court about Abi Webster, their neighbour and mother of Imran's surprise baby. In shock scenes, Imran saved his wife's life after they became trapped in the vehicle after ploughing into a scaffolding-clad building.

Then, as Toyah was bundled into an ambulance, it was Imran who collapsed and died at the scene from a cardiac arrest. Since then, Toyah has seen some of her neighbours turn against her with Adam Barlow and Kelly Neelan both testifying during her case.

And also during Thursday night's trip to the cobbles (September 15), Imran's mother Saira Habeeb told the court that she saw Toyah kissing Spider and she believed Toyah was having an affair and therefore killed Imran on purpose. Prior to heading into court, Leanne pleaded with a nervous Toyah not to say something she'll regret in the trial, urging her to leave it to her solicitor.

But after hearing their witness statements, and with Spider having done a runner, Toyah decided to take to the stand herself. She did, however, stop herself telling the jury she was responsible for Imran's death.

When they arrived home, Leanne breathed a sigh of relief but Toyah was less than pleased. "I have got nothing to feel positive about,” she told her sister who had tried to see the bright side in Spider Nugent having not turned up to testify about her murder confession. And as viewers found out earlier this week, he is an undercover police officer who is being pushed for information from DS Swain.

"It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter who said what, or if the jury think I’m a cold-blooded killer," Toyah continued. "It doesn’t matter. Imran’s dead. And he’s dead because of me. Whatever the jury decides that doesn’t change. He’s dead and I killed him. And I have to live with that forever."

Corrie fans have since been speculating over what they think will happen to Toyah - and whether she'll be found guilty of killing Imran. @CorrieFan93 asked: "Is Toyah gonna be leaving then? Surely she’s going down at least for a bit #corrie." @homebrew19721 tweeted: "Toyah going down #corrie."

@fordy1952 posted: "That Toyah has so gotta go to prison...if she doesnt it would be so so wrong !#corrie." @Andi000211 wrote: "She looks so guilty no chance of an acquittal.#Corrie." @DavidBoink shared: "Guilty as charged unless Toyah can nobble the jury #Corrie."
